Maurissa and Riley weren't one of the first couples in Paradise because Maurissa actually hit it off with Connor Brennan first.

Maurissa seemed smitten with Connor until Riley, a muscular attorney, showed up with a Date Card and asked her out.

Maurissa, a self-proclaimed introvert from Montana who had never gone on a real date before with a man before, quickly fell under Riley's spell due to his smooth charm and sweet personality.

It also took no time at all for Riley to figure out that Maurissa is a genuine and down-to-earth girl, and the couple felt a lot of chemistry on their first date when they played a game of truths and were asked to share intimate details about their lives with each other.

"She's also a little bit of a freak too, and I like that," Riley said. "She seems down for whatever... and the sexual tension is there. She's looking sexy as hell right now, and I just want it."

On a deeper level, Riley and Maurissa's goals for the future aligned. They both want to get married and have kids, and Riley made Maurissa -- who previously struggled with some insecurities about her weight -- feel beautiful.

A passionate kiss at the end of their first date then led to a visit to "The Boom Boom Room."

The following day, Maurissa was a little bit cold towards Connor, who realized he had lost his love interest to Riley.

Riley then continued to woo Maurissa and the couple became inseparable.

Riley rapped a song he had written for Maurissa, and Maurissa surprised Riley with a surprise picnic on the beach, which quickly escalated into the pair licking whipped cream off each other's randomly-selected body parts -- including Riley's big toe.

"That's the best chocolate sundae I've ever had!" Maurissa said after disappearing with Riley for awhile.

Riley made it known that Maurissa was his "girl," his "one fish" in the sea, and Maurissa wasn't really interested in getting to know other guys.

However, after getting some attention from newcomer Demar Jackson, Maurissa said she needed some reassurance from her man. Maurissa said Riley showed how he felt through his actions but he needed to verbally express how he was feeling about her.

Maurissa hoped to have a deep conversation with Riley, without scaring him away, and the pair ended up having a breakthrough in their communication.

Riley admitted to Maurissa he probably wouldn't be able to handle her dating another guy and he viewed her as his girl ever since their first date. He assured Maurissa that another woman wouldn't steal him away from her.

Maurissa asked Riley why he was so "closed off," and Riley said he had been wanting the same thing for 10 years but had the tendency to screw up a good thing.

"As badly as I want a family of my own, my family situation has never been too great. That's one of the things at the top that scares me. My parents got divorced when I was super young and I remember how my dad treated my mom, and it wasn't good," Riley explained.

Riley, however, said his father did the best he could and he is close to his mother now. Riley said he looked forward, in fact, to introducing Maurissa to his mom.

"Just do know that I do care about you a lot, and I have been in love before, and I feel myself going that way. It's scary as hell for me, but I'm going to do it because I have to and because I want to," Riley told Maurissa.

"That's all I've been wanting! Thank you! This is what I needed," Maurissa gushed. "Riley, I'm serious."

"Me too," he replied.

"I want you to be my man... I love waking up to you," Maurissa shared, adding, "Riley, it's hard for me -- very hard. But I know that I am falling in love with you."

"I am falling in love with you too," Riley responded.

Maurissa was so happy and relieved she and Riley could open up to each other and be vulnerable, and Riley said Maurissa could one day be his wife and the mother of his kids whom he wakes up next to every single morning.

Riley said he looked forward to making Maurissa breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon and gushed, "She'll learn more about me. I'm not looking for a one-night thing; I'm looking for a forever thing."

Riley later told the group he was "all about" Maurissa, and the pair only grew closer when dancing at the first "Paradise Prom."

So how did Riley and Maurissa's time in Paradise end? Did they get engaged or break up?

According to Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone, Riley and Maurissa stayed together on Bachelor in Paradise and enjoyed an overnight Fantasy Suite date.

The couple reportedly made it all the way to the finale with two other couples and Riley chose to popped the question!

Riley and Maurissa got engaged at the end of Bachelor in Paradise, according to Carbone.

So is the couple still together now, in the real world?

Carbone wrote in an August 24 blog posting, "Maurissa and Riley are the only two from the engaged couples that haven't been spotted publicly since filming ended."

But Carbone did confirm that Riley and Maurissa "have seen each other."

"They're just better at hiding it than these two who hang out in large crowds and in large cities all the time," the spoiler blogger wrote.

"To each their own, and the show really doesn't care or else they wouldn't keep doing it. Whatever floats their boat."
