Bachelor in Paradise couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt are falling in love on the summer spinoff's seventh season, but it appears Joe's ex-girlfriend Kendall Long may get in the new couple's way of happily-ever-after, so what happened between Joe and Serena? Did they continue dating in Paradise and get engaged, and if so, do spoilers reveal they're still together now?

On Bachelor in Paradise's latest episode, Serena gushed about how much she liked Joe.

The bachelorette, who dumped Matt James on The Bachelor's 25th season, said it's rare for her to want to be around someone all the time but she just enjoyed being around the former grocery-store owner from Chicago, IL, every day.

Serena said she was getting to "the L-word" faster than she thought she would.

However, the brunette beauty and Markham, Ontario native said neither Joe or herself happened to be strong in the department of expressing one's feelings and it was awkward to dive deep into their romance when Joe's ex, Kendall, was constantly around watching them.

The vibe in Paradise was "uncomfortable" for Serena, but she continued to follow her heart and pursue Joe anyways. She seemed prepared to risk getting her heart broken for true love.

As Joe and Serena got to know each other better on the beach, Kendall -- clearly trying to move on from her January 2020 breakup from Joe after almost two years together -- gave her attention to Ivan Hall, who competed for Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams on The Bachelorette's sixteenth season last year.

Ivan seemed into Kendall, but she couldn't help staring at Joe and Serena and focusing on the past and what she had lost.

Kendall and Joe apparently only broke up because Kendall could never see herself moving from Los Angeles to Chicago, and Kendall even admitted the pair was still in love when they called it quits.

Kendall -- who initially appeared on Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor -- had trouble shutting off her history with Joe and acknowledged she felt extremely vulnerable and bothered in Paradise.

But one evening, Joe surprised Serena with a blanket on the beach covered in lit candles and rose petals. Joe felt like their relationship was "real and comfortable," and he considered Serena to be his girlfriend already.

After some playful and flirtatious banter on the blanket, Serena shared with Joe, "I'm falling in love with you."

"I think I'm falling in love with you," Joe replied.

"Really?! No way?! Oh my God!" Serena yelled.

Serena said she was "giddy" about her romance with Joe and it was a "high-risk, high-reward" move.

Kendall watched Joe and Serena cuddle from a distance, and Kendall noted it was hard to watch Joe be happy and fall in love with somebody else.

As Joe and Serena kissed in each other's arms and nearly danced on the beach as they embraced, Kendall felt upset and "stressed out."

Kendall said she had made so many memories with Joe on the beach during Bachelor in Paradise's fifth season.

And while Kendall came to Paradise 7 in the hope of "creating new memories with new people," she was hung up on Joe, who found fame on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette and also competed on Dancing with the Stars.

"I just feel really detached from everyone. I don't know where I stand and I don't know where I want to be. I need some space emotionally," Kendall cried in a confessional.

"I just don't know how much longer I can do this, for Joe to be thriving and him seeing that I'm not. I'm just painfully vulnerable and I never used to be."

And according to ABC, Bachelor in Paradise's upcoming episode on Tuesday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT will feature Kendall having a bit of a meltdown.

"Picking up right where we left off, a devastated Kendall shares a tearful confession with her former beau, but a coupled-up Joe just can't tell her what she wants to hear," the network teased.

So did Joe let Kendall down gently and did Kendall leave Paradise?

What happened between Joe and Serena and did the couple stay together and make it all the way to the Final Rose Ceremony? If so, did Joe propose marriage?

Kendall reportedly quits Paradise and gets out of Joe's way

After an emotional conversation with Joe, Kendall decided to leave Bachelor in Paradise single and alone as to not interfere with Joe's blossoming romance with Serena, according to Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone.

It appears Joe was too invested in his romance with Serena to look back and potentially give Kendall another chance.

Kendall therefore reportedly left the show in tears, and Ivan wasn't far behind her since he had failed to make a lasting connection in Paradise with any of the bachelorettes.

Once Kendall left, Joe and Serena reportedly grew deeper in love and enjoyed a Fantasy Suite date.

The couple then made it to the Final Rose Ceremony -- along with two other couples -- and Carbone reported earlier this summer that Joe popped the question and the couple got engaged!

Joe and Serena will therefore be shown making a commitment to each other on Bachelor in Paradise's seventh-season finale.

Abigail Heringer may have given away that Serena and Joe are definitely still together

Abigail seemingly low-key spoiled Serena and Joe's relationship status in August, Cosmopolitan reported.

Serena posted a photo of herself poolside in a black-and-white bikini on Instagram and captioned it, "Feeling beachy tonight, I wonder why."

Abigail commented, "I'm stealing you away from @joeamabile1."

Fans immediately noticed the potential spoiler, so it seems Joe and Serena are still engaged.

Carbone also said eyewitnesses spotted Joe and Serena together in Chicago at a rooftop pool in early July.

"These people are gonna find a way to see each other and not hide it. They do it every season," Carbone wrote in a July 6 blog post.
