"I was in a relationship the last time you guys saw me and the last time I spoke publicly... But things have changed," Kat confirmed during the January 27 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.
Kat told co-hosts Charity Lawson and Rachel Recchia that she needed "a lot more" than what she was "receiving" in her romance with Dale.
"It just felt like, 'I either have to accept his lifestyle and his life or move on.' It didn't feel like we were trying to build a relationship together," Kat explained.
She added, "I would much rather be alone than be in a relationship where I feel alone. And so that started to be what I was experiencing."
Kat and Dale fell in love on Bachelor in Paradise's tenth season last summer, and Kat said she had listed her needs and wants in a relationship for Dale very early on.
"When we were on the show... I was very clear that I'm not leaving San Diego. I just got there," recalled the aesthetic nurse practitioner injector.
"So I was very clear: 'I don't do long distance. I don't want to do long distance. But I'm willing to put in time if that's the goal and we're moving towards it actively.' I was under the impression that his life was very fluid at the moment."
Kat said Dale allegedly told her that he wanted to leave New York, which made San Diego sound like an option for him.
"I don't think I would've spent more than five minutes with him if that wasn't discussed early on because that was such a clear thing I knew I wanted. I was very set on, 'This is where I'm living,'" Kat insisted, adding how she has an established job and client community.
When asked to share Dale's profession, Kat said she thinks he's a model. (Dale has modeled costumes for Party City).

Kat went on to explain how content creation is Dale's job now and they didn't see eye to eye on what type of content they should make a a couple.
"I do very different content than him. I am very authentic, in-the-moment. I make silly things, and if it feels forced, I am so estranged from that," Kat explained.
"So I think we just have different ideas of what that looks like."
Kat said when she and Dale wrapped filming Bachelor in Paradise, he visited her in San Diego and everything was okay, for the most part.
"But he took it so seriously. We could not be seen in public in any capacity whatsoever. I understand you have to be careful [to prevent spoilers] but it felt way more intense," Kat shared.
"We couldn't go into a gas station together. He felt like everybody knew who he was. He was like, 'I had the most public relationship [with The Bachelorette alum Clare Crawley] and everyone knows who I am! I'm going to get recognized everywhere!'"

"It was really disconnecting, in a way, for us. I was like, 'Dude, nobody cares!'" Kat noted, adding how he wouldn't even allow her to visit him in New York since they'd be "way too public."
Dale therefore visited Kat for a week at a time in San Diego and they took secret trips, according to The Bachelor alum.
But Kat admitted she was desperate for growth in the relationship, and while the show was airing, she asked Dale to make a plan about their future.
"I kind of always just got very vague responses, one being, like, 'Well that's always the goal,'" Kat complained.
"I was like, 'How?!' I could never get a full answer, and he was like, 'Let's table this for now.'"
Kat said she kept bringing up the conversation, only to discover that Dale allegedly thought San Diego "was not anywhere he could grow his career."
Kat shared how she "tried really hard" to keep her relationship with Dale moving and advancing in an emotional capacity.
"We were offered therapy and I tried that with him. It was fine. It wasn't super hard. It just felt like it was getting stagnant," Kat recalled.

Kat said she had "more drive" to grow together but it seemed Dale viewed relationships as more of a partnership "rather than a companionship."
"I want to date my best friend. I want to be our most authentic and real selves... and I don't know if we were getting there," Kat said.
But Kat noted that Dale was also "in a busy season" with work at the time and seemed stressed.

Kat suggested that she didn't really know who Dale was or what he wanted.
"I think he plays a part. I think he definitely plays parts in every day life. That's who he is. At least that's how I experienced it," Kat told Charity and Rachel.
Kat said Dale was usually busy on the weekends as well, doing things that required a lot of his attention.
"So I just felt like I didn't even have a boyfriend at some points. I was like, 'Am I in a relationship right now? I don't really feel loved or taken care of in the way that I thought I was going to.' That might be okay for someone else [but it's not for me]," she said.
And then around the week of the Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 reunion, Kat said Dale was staying at her house and he seemed stressed about work again.
"I just kept feeling like I was in the same room with him and I was alone," Kat lamented.
Kat pointed out how she always has a lot on her plate as well, especially considering she works 10-hour shifts four or five days a week.
"I have just as much on my brain, and then I'm trying to live my life with family and friends... So we all have responsibilities. It's either, 'Do you want to fit your partner in your life or you don't?' And sometimes people have different priorities," Kat explained.
"I started to realize our balance of what we want in a relationship is off, and that's okay. I don't try to make people into what I want anymore. I used to do that. [But now], it's like, 'You're either it or you're not.'"
Kat also claimed she and Dale did not have "good or healthy communication," nor did she feel seen by her boyfriend.
"I also felt like I was the only one initiating hard conversations," Kat alleged, adding how she never left those talks with clarity.

Kat said that drama triggered her "trauma from before" and it was hard for her to cope with that.
"So he was really supportive with that, which I appreciated. But now, looking back, I'm like, 'Was he just supportive because it made him look better or did he actually really care?'" Kat recalled.
Kat said Dale kept pushing her to "stay composed" at the reunion, which made her feel like she couldn't speak her mind or stand up for herself.
"If you watch that reunion, that man was trying so hard to make me stay quiet," Kat said.
"And then I started to feel like I had to prove [I could be composed] to him, and that was extremely triggering for me, living in a space where you're trying to prove this version of yourself to your partner... But I think I proved it very well."
Once the show wrapped airing, Kat said she felt like she could finally live out her relationship with Dale publicly and fully.
"[But] I still felt off, and we went on this weekend trip for something I thought was going to be about us. I wanted to go to New York Fashion Week, but he had this big thing he wanted us to do in Vegas with boxing," Kat said.
"It ended up being me in a house with a bunch of guys. I was the only girl."
Dale apparently took Kat to "an influencer house" for an event that was "for him."
"It was a paid opportunity. I didn't get paid!" Kat vented.
Kat apparently thought they were going to stay in a hotel together and have a fun weekend together, only to be surprised by the fact she was supposed to participate in actual boxing workouts.

"We had our biggest fight there."
Kat is expected to share how her breakup with Dale actually went down on the next "Bachelor Happy Hour" episode on Wednesday, January 28.
Dale and Kat were smitten with each other on Bachelor in Paradise after they both experienced previous heartbreaks within Bachelor Nation.
Kat originally appeared on Season 27 of The Bachelor starring Zach Shallcross. After she left the show brokenhearted, she got engaged to John Henry Spurlock on Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2023.
Dale, meanwhile, proposed to Clare on Season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020. Following their 2021 split, he moved on with HGTV star Galey Alix.
