Bachelor in Paradise couple Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio have fired back at trolls who slammed Danielle's uber-sexy and sheer New Year's Eve outfit that she rocked out in Chicago.

Shortly after ringing in the New Year with Michael, Danielle took to Instagram and posted a slideshow of photos from her big night out at Soho House Chicago.

Danielle dropped jaws in a shimmery gold and floral mini dress that was sheer with long tassels on the bottom. She wore it over a noticeable black bra and black underwear.

Danielle also topped the sexy ensemble with a black coat, black choker necklaces, and elbow-length black gloves.

"Happy New Year and happy hydration to all who participated. Worth the Hangover. PS -- Sheer dresses are the new ripped jeans for parentals," Danielle captioned the pictures.

One of the photos was a screenshot of a text exchange Danielle had with her mom, who wrote to The Bachelor alum, "Where's the rest of your dress? Your underwear looks nice."

While Danielle clearly laughed off her mother's remark and found humor in the situation, she didn't think other people criticizing her outfit was funny, especially when they bashed her character for wanting to show a little skin.

While the majority of Danielle and Michael's followers complimented Danielle's bold outfit and praised her for her confidence and beauty, other trolls called her "trampy" and claimed Michael must have been "disappointed" in and "embarrassed" by her.

One Instagram user wrote to Danielle, "Doesn't [Michael] have a son? Hmmmm... Great role model on social media seeking attention. Michael seemed like a better Dad than exposing his son to this which he will he sadly will probably be bullied for."

Danielle fired back, "You know what's embarrassing? Judging people and commenting on lives you have zero insight on for people to see. As well as body shaming. That's really embarrassing."

The neonatal nurse continued, "I guess according to your expert parenting playbook -- people aren't allowed to celebrate freely. And kids definitely shouldn't see what a healthy and supportive love looks like between adults. I'm sure that's never messed any one up and I'm also fairly certain most people would agree 2 drinks on NYE is weak sauce but hey."

Danielle added, "I never drink and get a hang over easily. Let's see, should Michael and I give James an IG right now so he can learn to shame and bully strangers on the internet? That seems in accordance to your style parenting. Kindly see yourself out."

Michael posted the same photos from New Year's Eve on his own Instagram account, and one person commented, "Read his body language. Always facing away from her, closed off. He's forcing himself to be ok with this relationship."

Danielle replied, "Omg I've been so paranoid about this very thing but you just confirmed he hates me."

A third troll wrote on Michael's post, "What's up with these bachelorettes wearing hardly anything? Classy."

Danielle slammed the troll and wrote in reply, "Didn't know my self respect was dependent on you or what any women chooses to wear. Grateful I have a man that loves, supports and never shames a woman's body."

And Michael got involved in this exchange as well, writing, "I was taught that you cannot have 'self respect' if you don't respect others. This doesn't mean that you must agree with everyone's decisions but rather that critique should come from a place of kindness."

Prior to New Year's Eve, Danielle told BachelorNation.com that she and Michael spent Christmas with his family in Akron, OH, before heading to Wisconsin to enjoy Christmas with her family.

"Michael and I really want to travel together and spend time making actual memories. So we are starting our travel fund," Danielle shared when asked about a gift exchange.

"But I got a little something for him. I think he'll get a bigger kick out of what I made for James for Christmas."

On Bachelor in Paradise last summer, Michael was romantically interested in Sierra Jackson, but he ultimately determined something was "missing" between them and he was unable to let his walls down for her following the 2019 death of his wife, Laura Ritter-Allio, from breast cancer.

But when Danielle -- who lost her fiance Nick Haag to a drug overdose in 2011 -- stepped foot on the Paradise beach in Mexico, Michael seemed ecstatic and affectionately called her "Dani."

They had spoken via DMs on Instagram and become friends prior to filming the show but claimed they had never met in person.

Michael and Danielle were able to connect quickly over their similar losses and traumas. The pair slowly got to know each other and never expressed interest in dating anyone else on the show.

Michael and Danielle chose to leave Bachelor in Paradise together as a couple before overnight Fantasy Suites. They both determined they weren't ready to get engaged, especially because Danielle had yet to Michael's young son James.

However, Michael revealed on the reunion show in November that James loves Danielle and never wants her to leave when she's visiting.

Danielle also confirmed she adores the little boy and can't wait to be a bigger part of his life.

Michael also announced on the reunion show that he's "in love" with Danielle and she has changed his life for the better. Danielle is only the second woman whom Michael has ever said, "I love you," to.

Danielle shared how she was planning to move to Ohio, where Michael and James live, in order to progress their relationship naturally. However, she noted they aren't going to live under the same roof.

And in early December, Michael said Danielle would be leaving Nashville, TN, and making the move in two or three months.

"Maybe she'll live in Cleveland so James and I will have a little city spot we can go to on the weekends," Michael said in an Instagram Q&A.

"I'm just so excited. Long distance is difficult, but we've made the best of it and this next chapter and upcoming year is one I am so looking forward to. She's the best!"
