Bachelor in Paradise star Andrew Spencer has explained what happened behind the scenes that made the cast so angry at Brian Autz for telling Bailey Taylor Brown about Jeremy Simon and Susie Evans.

"When the money and the competition became a thing, [he was like], 'Oh, I think this is a good time for me to tell Bailey!' That doesn't make any sense to me."

On Bachelor in Paradise's latest Season 10 episode, Brian let Bailey know that Jeremy had said he regretted not giving Susie his rose.
Not only did Brian tell Bailey that Jeremy had called Susie on the phone and begged for her to return to Paradise, but he also dropped the bombshell that Jeremy had said he'd propose to Susie on the spot if she ever came back.
Given Bailey and Jeremy were a strong couple in Paradise at this point, Bailey was naturally brought to tears and threatened to quit the show when $500,000 was still on the line.
"I think it was in bad faith. It wasn't in good faith," Andrew said.
"At that point, Brian has never talked to Bailey on the beach, like, never had -- you never saw them have a conversation."
Nick pointed out how Brian had claimed he "loved" Bailey on the show.
"Yeah! You've never seen them talk!" Andrew revealed with a laugh.
"So I think in that retrospect, I was like, 'This is odd. This is not how it's supposed to be.' And Jeremy and Brian, they hang out every day. Jeremy is on the beach, they work out together, and Brian is always in Jeremy's room hanging out."
Andrew reiterated how it was "so odd" for Brian to throw Jeremy under the bus.

"And everyone was starting to see [Brian and Parisa Shifteh]'s relationship -- there was a lot of stuff starting to happen."

Andrew also explained how he, personally, is not the type of person who will insert himself into another person or couple's business.
"And I think that's what I had a problem with," Andrew recalled.
"If you're going to be friends and be around Jeremy all the time, at least tell him that he needs to go and tell [Bailey], that it's time to tell her, instead of going behind his back."
Nick agreed with Andrew but also mentioned how Brian and Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams were correct in saying that Bailey deserved to know the truth and somebody had to tell her.
"And also, we don't get to see his ITMs [in the moments]. We're seeing the same things you guys are for the first time right now," Andrew revealed.

Andrew said he was surprised to hear that Jeremy had called Susie.
"I was like, 'I get it, you're mad. Out of spite, you want to -- it happens. People have moments of lapse.' I didn't see his conversation with Susie, so we don't know how aggressive [it was] or how it was portrayed [for viewers]," Andrew explained.
"In my head, I was just like, 'I get it. This dude, he had a moment of lapse. He was a little bit mad that I went on a date with a girl he picked over another girl.' That makes sense."
But Andrew reiterated how no one "knew the extent of the conversation" Jeremy was having about Susie.
"I didn't know he was saying that to Brian, and I never knew he was saying anything about Susie since that," Andrew noted.
Andrew apparently thought Jeremy had soft-balled and unenthusiastically given Susie an invitation to return to Paradise when, in reality, Jeremy's feelings for Susie were pretty strong.
Andrew also said he knew that everything was being filmed and Jeremy would never get away with bad behavior.
"They look like a really strong couple right now, and so, in our eyes, why would we mess that up? I don't know what [Jeremy]'s told her and if they've hashed it out," Andrew said.
"It just has nothing to do with me and I don't want to be a part of it. So I think Brian took it upon himself to just insert himself in there in a way to try to get Jeremy eliminated."

Brian had his talk with Bailey right before the Rose Ceremony in which the cast could vote to eliminate one bachelor and his partner.
The situation almost backfired on Brian, however, because a handful of guys voted for him to go home in support of Jeremy. (In the end, Golden couple Faith Martin and Kim Buike got eliminated).

"The timing was bad. I think everything was really bad."
Andrew claimed, for instance, that Brian and Parisa Shifteh's relationship was struggling at the time.
"It seemed like [his talk with Bailey] came out of left field so that he could make up for something and get to the next round," Andrew said.
"And Brian, it's like a wolf in sheep's clothing. You think he's lying because he just doesn't come off as a good guy! So even if he's telling the truth, how do you for sure know he's telling the truth if you weren't in that room or in that situation?"
Andrew also apparently didn't appreciate the fact that Brian lied about his conversation with Bailey when confronted by the other guys.
"It was sleazy!" Andrew shouted, adding, "You just broke up a relationship and you didn't even think it through!"
And Andrew, knowing Jeremy has a sarcastic dry wit, decided to give Jeremy the benefit of the doubt during filming.
When Bailey confronted Jeremy about Brian's claims on the show, Jeremy promised Bailey that he really cared for her and only had eyes for her. Jeremy also denied ever saying that he'd propose marriage to Susie if she came back to the show.
Bailey ended up forgiving Jeremy and the pair decided to move forward in Paradise together.
