Arie Luyendyk Jr. and fiancee Lauren Burnham have finally enjoyed their first date together -- in public.

The Bachelor couple, who got engaged on Tuesday night's live After the Final Rose special, embarked on their first public date at a New York hot spot called Megu on Thursday, Page Six reported.

"They were all over each other and even feeding each other sushi," an eyewitness at the Japanese restaurant told Page Six. "They seemed happy and had smiles all night long."

Following a long day of press in the city, Arie and Lauren were excited to enjoy each other's company in a public setting.

Since reconciling in mid-January, the pair had to keep their romance under wraps with phone conversations and secret meetings behind closed doors.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week, Arie had admitted he's never gone to a restaurant with Lauren.

The pro racing driver, 36, and the tech saleswoman, 26, therefore braved the cold weather to hit up Megu and ended up staying at the restaurant for three hours, according to Us Weekly.

Arie and Lauren reportedly feasted on sushi and steak in a private dining room, and they also received a tour of the kitchen and a little photo session with Chef Dave Rashty.

Lauren -- who is from Virginia Beach but currently resides in Dallas, TX -- shared a cute photo from the date on her Instagram story, writing, "First public date with my love @ariejr."

And Us reported that Arie also posted a sweet boomerang of Lauren blowing a kiss as the couple flirted their way through the evening.

Arie and Lauren are now heading to the IndyCar season opener this upcoming weekend in St. Petersburg, FL, according to Page Six.

Arie -- who also works as a real estate agent -- popped the question to Lauren only weeks after ending his first engagement to Becca Kufin, who won his final rose in November 2017 at the end of The Bachelor's 22nd season.

Arie blindsided and devastated Becca with the breakup in early January, and the excruciating conversation aired as an unedited and uncut scene during The Bachelor finale earlier this week.

Arie told Becca that his heart belonged to Lauren and he missed her terribly, and then he went running back to his season's runner-up, who welcomed him with open arms.

Lauren and Arie are already talking about wedding plans and starting a family, and Lauren said she plans to move to Scottsdale, AZ, to be with Arie at the end of the month.
