Amanda Stanton was widely perceived as America's darling on The Bachelor, but her Bachelor in Paradise stint has changed that.

Stanton, a single mom of two adorable daughters, captured hearts on Ben Higgins' season of The Bachelor through her genuine intentions and sweet personality.

However, Stanton comes across as a different person on Bachelor in Paradise's currently-airing third season, and it's up to fans to decide whether she truly acted that way or fell victim to an unflattering, inaccurate edit.

"I have been completely overwhelmed with the amount of hate I have received since Monday night," Stanton wrote in a post on her blog.

This week's two Bachelor in Paradise episodes made it seem like Stanton coldly and carelessly dumped a smitten Nick Viall -- without as much as a warning or conversation -- in favor of his arch-nemesis Josh Murray, whom she then appeared to make out with for hours right in front of Viall.

"I absolutely HATE that I feel the need to explain myself," Stanton admitted. "I am not going to blame the 'edit' but I will say there are a few important details that were missing that might explain my actions."

Stanton explained that Viall had expressed interest in getting to know Jennifer Saviano -- whom she became friends with on The Bachelor -- before Paradise even began filming. So once on the show, Stanton thought Viall was "uninterested" in her.

"I was pretty shocked when he asked me on a date... I almost felt like he was holding back because he knew he was waiting for Jen to arrive and didn't want to lead me on," Stanton explained.

"He would hold my hand or kiss me -- but as soon as the cameras were off he would stop or let go of my hand... I TRULY felt like he wasn't that into me."

Viall -- who comes across as a love-sick puppy for Stanton on the show -- then allegedly brought up Saviano again after his date with the single mom in a conversation at the Rose Ceremony that didn't air.

According to Stanton, Viall said he had an "amazing date" with Leah Block and wanted to "get to know her better." He also allegedly added that he was still "very excited for Jen to arrive."

"He told me he wanted to be on the same page as far as dating other people and made it CLEAR AS DAY that we were going to both explore our options," Stanton wrote.
