Instead, the network has announced The Bachelor's fourteenth season will premiere in midseason and air in the Mondays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot Dancing with the Stars' ninth-season performance episodes will occupy this fall.

Last May, ABC left The Bachelor off its fall schedule -- representing the first time since 2005 that the long-running reality dating series was not part of the network's fall lineup.

The Bachelor 13 subsequently premiered in early January and concluded in March with Jason Mesnick rejecting bachelorette Molly Malaney in favor of Melissa Rycroft.

However Mesnick later decided to dump Rycroft and ask for a second chance with Malaney during The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special that was taped in Los Angeles six weeks after the finale filmed.

The Bachelorette's fifth season premiered earlier this week on ABC, as rejected The Bachelor 13 bachelorette Jillian Harris whittled her field of 30 suitors to 20.
