Considering Usman had gone through a tumultuous marriage and divorce to his Season 4 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days co-star Lisa Hamme, he wanted to get to know Kim -- a "Super Fan" whom he called his "potential" girlfriend -- for a couple of weeks before determining whether they should be in an exclusive and serious relationship.

Once the pair had their first meeting, Kim gifted Usman a PlayStation 5 gaming system as well as a brand new MacBook Pro laptop.

"That's like girlfriend status right there!" Kim announced after surprising Usman.

"Almost!" Usman responded in a recent episode of the TLC reality series.

Many fans have therefore criticized Kim for trying to buy the rapper's love.

"People can think what they want," Kim told Us Weekly on Monday. "I know what kind of woman I am. I know what kind of man Usman is."

Usman's motive and intentions were also questioned when he kissed the expensive presents and wouldn't even kiss Kim.

Usman shared how Kim looked "good" -- better than he had been anticipating -- but he seemed more excited about the gifts than having Kim finally in his presence.

"They made it look like he just grabbed his stuff and walked back to his room. Like, 'Bye, Kim!' You know? It wasn't like that," Kim said. "So, some things have been misconstrued, but in a good way."

Although Kim has faced backlash for splurging on her love interest and allegedly trying to use money to woo her partner, she said she has no regrets about the pricey gifts.

"I would do it all over again," Kim noted.

While Kim claimed she wasn't trying to buy Usman's love, she also believes Usman wanted to televise their relationship for the right reasons.

"I think Usman does the show for love," Kim told Us in light of critics saying the rapper wants to build fame, boost his career and come to America to become a bigger star.

Kim shared how she and Usman just wanted to share their interesting story with the world.

"At first I said 'no.' I was like, 'No, because my life is good. I have a very good life,'" Kim recalled.

But then she ultimately agreed to give the 90 Day Fiance franchise a chance.

"It's amazing I started out as a #SuperFan and then I went to 'potential'... That's how our story evolved. So it's good for that," Kim explained.

"And the perks that come out of that are perks... I don't think he did it for any other reason but to get our story out there."

Usman also told Entertainment Tonight in December that he was "not scamming anybody" and absolutely was not using Kim for a green card or TV opportunities.

"I applied to be on TV [again] because I love being on TV. This is what I have been doing since childhood. TLC opened a platform [for me]," Usman said.

Usman assured ET that he is madly in love with Kim and their relationship is the real thing.

"I love her with all my bones, my heart," Usman said.

"Right now, I am so much in love. I love Kimberly, I can say that any way in the world. I love her. I'm not shy. I'm not ashamed. I am proud to say that I love her. I love her for real."

He said his relationship with Kim is totally different from what he had with Lisa, who often got jealous of Usman's female fans and lashed out on Season 4 of the spinoff.

The rapper also claimed he doesn't need to "use" anyone for financial gain at this point in his career, nor was he ever desperate to move to America and live in the United States.

"For me, being in America is a goal, but it's not the only goal. For me, my goal is to be No. 1 -- the top, top rapper in the world," Usman clarified.

Usman and Lisa married on Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days and split in May 2020. Usman later reportedly served Lisa with divorce papers in December 2020.

"I was the first Nigerian man that an American white lady scammed," Usman previously claimed to ET.

"I admit it, everybody knows. She took my money, she [admits] it, everybody knows it. I sent her money, she never sent me money."

Usman told the website that he "never wanted to marry Lisa" in the first place but she "pushed" for their wedding against the wishes of his family and friends, who allegedly opposed the union.

Usman said he just wanted to make Lisa happy but once she returned to the U.S. without him, she allegedly spiraled out of control.

"She called me the N word, she took my money," Usman alleged. "I was like, you know what, I'm cutting it. My problem is when I say I'm done, it is over."

Usman assured fans he will never go back to Lisa or take her back.

Although Lisa and Usman had tied the knot in Nigeria, their marriage wasn't legal in the United States and so Lisa revealed in April 2021 she had decided to marry her "best friend," a man named Tracey she had met in the fifth grade.

Lisa ultimately believed she was also "the victim of a romance scam" with Usman, and she also accused him having used her for fame to advance his rap career.

90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days currently airs Sunday nights at 8PM ET/PT on TLC.
