Angela, a 53-year-old nursing assistant from Hazlehurst, GA, and Michael, a 31-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, met online and communicated for a few months before Angela traveled to Nigeria to meet Michael face-to-face.

Angela's loved ones warned the hospice caregiver that it seemed like Michael was trying to scam her to come to America and she might get hurt, but Angela ignored all the skeptics and followed her heart.

Angela thought she and Michael had the potential for a lifelong partnership, however, she had to work through trust issues and insecurities regarding the couple's age difference and Michael's intentions.

Angela found reasons to fight with Michael all the time, which resulted in numerous breakups, but the pair always managed to work things out and get back together.

90 Day Fiance's seventh season therefore featured Angela and Michael working to get Michael's K-1 visa approved so he could finally join her in America.

Michael's K-1 visa was unfortunately denied following his visa interview, and Angela figured it was because of their romance wasn't convincing. Not only is Angela much older than Michael, but the couple also wasn't married.

As a result, Michael suggested to Angela they get married in Nigeria and apply for a K-3 spousal visa, but Angela had been vehemently against the idea of having her wedding in a foreign country since her mother, daughters and grandchildren wouldn't be able to attend.

"If I hear anything about the K-1 visa, Michael will come to the U.S. and we'll have our 90 days and have a wedding here," Angela said on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.

"But if the K-1 visa doesn't come through, I'm going to be marrying Michael in Nigeria because I love him and want to do whatever will get Michael over here in the quickest way possible."

Where to get married, however, wasn't the only obstacle Angela and Michael had to face in order to be together.

Michael desperately wants a biological child -- and so does his mother, Aduke, for him -- but Angela was told giving birth would be a serious risk to her health and she had no eggs.

Once Angela traveled to Nigeria again and began planning their wedding, she asked Michael to stay by her side even though she might not be able to get pregnant.

Michael was upset about the idea of potentially not becoming a father, but he chose love over fatherhood and assured Angela they'd be together against all odds.

"I've gone way beyond for love, and it's time for Michael to sacrifice for me," Angela said.

Another issue the couple had to overcome was Michael thinking Angela would take on the role of a traditional Nigerian wife, cooking and cleaning the home.

Angela threatened to call off the wedding and say "I won't" instead of "I do," but Michael promised her it was all a misunderstanding and he anticipated their marriage would be 50/50.

And since Angela worried about Michael partying with his friends, the couple decided to have a joint bachelor and bachelorette party at a club.

Angela was immediately pissed off when she saw half-naked women dancing around. She didn't understand why Michael had brought her to a club like that, but she decided to just relax and trust Michael would keep his eyes only on her.

Angela and Michael had fun and danced, but at one point, Michael turned around and watched a girl dancing up on a podium, which left Angela "furious."

Angela immediately stormed out of the club and yelled "f-ck you" at Michael. Michael chased Angela down, but she screamed at him to "go look at some more cheeks and ass."

"Angela said she is not going to get married to me now. I am worried," Michael subsequently admitted to the cameras.

Once again, Angela told Michael that she was "done" with him, and she ended up going a full night without talking to her fiance.

But Angela confessed the next day she had said some nasty things she didn't mean, and she told Michael that she wanted him to show respect and loyalty through his actions and not just his words.

With that being said, Michael agreed to try harder to make her happy and become a better man.

Angela later woke up on her wedding day feeling very nervous and "scattered," while Michael said he was feeling "happy and excited" about getting married.

Michael promised Angela they could have a second wedding once he moved to the United States to be with her, but Angela was concerned about her mother Glenda Faye Standridge being sick and potentially passing away before then.

"I'm scared to death. What the f-ck?!.. I don't know if I can do this because I'm concerned I might be making a huge mistake with Michael in Nigeria because the risks are he might not be able to come to the States."

Angela appeared to have an anxiety attack before her wedding, and she referred to herself as "a hot mess" and said her nerves were "shot."

Angela said her head was spinning before walking down the aisle, and she wondered if Michael would even adjust to and be happy with a life in America.

But Angela did go through with her wedding and 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? aired the ceremony and reception in Nigeria.

When Michael saw Angela walk down the aisle, he thought she looked beautiful, sexy, young and adorable. Michael gushed about how marrying Angela was a wonderful moment, and Angela cried because she was so happy.

Angela wore a lace white gown for her wedding ceremony and then changed into a sexy red dress for the reception. Angela's friend JoJo truly believed Angela and Michael loved each other and said she had never seen Angela so happy.

Michael promised to stay with Angela after receiving a Green Card in the United States, even though JoJo was a bit skeptical about his long-term intentions.

"I am truly in love with her, and I want to be with her -- Green Card or not," Michael insisted.

Angela was so excited to call Michael her "husband" and she considered him to be her "king."

However, Angela received a call from her daughter Skyla when Angela was prepared to celebrate her nuptials with Michael not long after their wedding.

Angela learned her mother was unresponsive and taken to a hospital near their hometown in an ambulance. Glenda was admitted into the ICU, and Angela booked the earliest available flight to the United States.

When Michael dropped Angela off at the airport, she said she wasn't sure when she'd be able to come back to Nigeria. Michael promised to be there for Angela and insisted they would "work it out" no matter what.

"This is the time you need your husband with you. I don't want to leave him because this is a bad situation and I don't know if I'm strong enough to go through this alone," Angela said.

"You're married one minute and then the next minute, you might be going to a funeral," she added.

A reunion between Angela and Glenda wasn't filmed, but an on-screen graphic read, "Angela made it back in time to see her mother. Ten days later, Angela's mother passed away."

Angela was devastated by her mother's passing but tried to remain strong for her kids and grandchildren.

Angela was glad Glenda got to see pictures from the wedding, and she apparently believed her mother really liked Michael.

Angela then FaceTimed with Michael and asked how long it would take to receive a spousal visa because she had sent in all the paperwork and photos. Michael replied it could take anymore from nine to 18 months.

"We're gonna make it. We just have to be strong for one another," Michael said. "You are my wife now... I'm not leaving you for anything. I am not going anywhere."

Angela called Michael the love of her life and insisted they had every right to be together.

"Only strong people can survive this, and there's a lot of times I've wanted to say, 'To hell with this, this is too much,' but true love, you can't just walk off and say, 'F it.' We love each other and we're going to be together one way or another," Angela told the cameras.

During Part 1 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?'s Season 5 Tell-All event, Angela and Michael had filed for a spousal visa after their wedding in Nigeria, but Michael revealed the visa had yet to be approved.

Angela and Michael acknowledged they still fight but are able to bounce back and resolve their issues quicker than ever before. Angela said she would go three or four days without talking to Michael after an argument in the past but now they got over things in 30 or 40 minutes.

Michael said he trusts Angela but she still doesn't trust him 100 percent.

"Well you've given her a reason not to trust you," Elizabeth Potthast said on Angela's behalf.

When asked how the couple handles mistrust in their marriage now, Angela joked, "When he goes to the bathroom to poop, I better be on that phone."

Michael said there is not a stable power supply in his Nigerian neighborhood and so he has three generators in his house so he can charge his phone in order to be in touch with Angela all the time.

Angela admitted if Michael doesn't answer his phone, she immediately assumes he's doing something sneaky.

After watching footage of their joint bachelor/ette party in which Angela accused Michael of having a wandering eye and making her "feel like sh-t," Michael told host Shaun Robinson that his first lap dance was in college.

Angela immediately got angry because Michael apparently told her that she had given him the first lap dance he ever had.

"Michael's got so many gosh damn secrets," Angela complained.

Angela said she loved Michael but it's not necessarily good for her, like a person who loves candy but has diabetes.

Regardless of their struggles, Angela just wished Michael could be with her in America, especially since she no longer had her mother around. Angela said COVID-19 had prevented her from being able to fly to Nigeria whenever she wants to see Michael.

"We won't [be together soon]," Angela shared. "After the pandemic, we have to wait probably a year for him to get the spousal visa. But if we make it through all this and we're still together, then everybody can shut up."

Are Angela and Michael still waiting for the spousal visa and are they still married now?

Angela and Michael got married on January 27, 2020 in Nigeria.

Angela took to Instagram on September 19 with photos from her wedding reception and captioned the slideshow "no stress" with the hashtag "Teamangelamichael."

And several days earlier, Angela gushed about being Michael's wife after her wedding aired on TLC.

"'True love stands by each other's side on good days and stands closer on bad days.' Happy Married Life to us! Thank you all for your prayers and support. #wed27thjan20 #happyeverafter," Angela captioned several photos from her wedding.

In addition to posting a photo of their wedding cake -- which featured the flags for United States and Nigeria -- Angela also posted a photo with Michael from their wedding reception in which she rocked the red dress and Michael looked dapper in a white suit.

"Love this dress. It was my moms favorite," Angela wrote.

Angela later thanked JoJo for being the witness at her wedding on Instagram and captioned the post with the hashtag #Teamangelamichael."

Angela also posted photos in which she and Michael signed their marriage certificate after the wedding.

Angela's mother Glenda passed away at age 77 on February 8 in a hospital in Jacksonville, FL, less than two weeks after Angela's wedding.

On May 10, Angela posted a sweet tribute to her mother on Instagram and wrote, "Mother, I need you so much, I wish you were here. However, it comforts me to know that I did everything I could for you."

"Happy Mother's Day to you in heaven. Also want to wish my Mother in law (Iya bieu) Happy mother's day.. we love you. To all mothers out there!! Happy Mother's day."

Prior to Angela releasing wedding photos on Instagram, she and Michael showed they're still together by sharing sweet posts pretty frequently.

In early September, Angela posted a TLC photo of Michael and herself on Instagram and captioned it with multiple emoticons, including a blowing-kiss face.

In mid-July 2020, Angela posted a video of Michael dancing and captioned it, "My sexy nigerian," along with emoticons of a smiling face with three hearts as well as the blowing-kiss face.

And in the comments section, Angela put five fire emojis with two upside-down smiling faces.

In early July, Angela and Michael captioned a selfie, "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Love my. Happy New Month everyone. #staysafe #teamangelamichael #happyeverafter."

The pair also posted a couple of throwback photos of them sitting in a car together one week earlier.

The post was captioned, "Goofing with my [heart]. #tb #naijamusic #Teamangelamichael."

Michael denied he's with Angela just to get a Green Card in the United States during a late June interview with In Touch Weekly, suggesting they're still fighting to be together in the same country.

A fan commented on a throwback video posted to the couple's shared Instagram account, "Oh my god. Michael all this sh-t for a green card. Oh lord, this is torture."

Shortly afterward, Michael clapped back.

"Dude. What's your problem? This is Michael," he wrote, according to In Touch.

"Is there something you [are] looking for or someone who hurt you? Why the hate? Please unfollow us OK, if you don't like what you see [shaking my head]. One more silly comment from you, I'll block [your] ass [I don't care]."

Angela admitted during a June 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight there is a tiny part of her that worries Michael is just after a Green Card, but she apparently manages to talk herself out of that doubt.

"Me being an American, maybe five percent or two percent when we fight thinks, 'Is it that?' But when I get my senses back, I really feel like in my heart that it ain't," Angela shared.

"Now, we won't really know now, will we? Because, you know, I've always thought in past relationships, you know, this is going to work... All I can tell them is to keep watching and if they're right, they're right. If they're wrong, they're wrong. I'm gonna stick by my man and I'm gonna fight for him and that's it."

"If I really thought he was scamming me, my ass wouldn't be going back over there. But he does have a lot to learn because he's young and he's from Nigeria. But I'm really sweet to him at certain times," she added.

Angela said Michael must truly be in love with her to stay together after what they've gone through together.

"Getting rid of him is not easy," Angela joked.

"Because that's real love, you know? Let's face it, being on the show four times, he could've moved on a while back. I've learned that he really truly does love me."

Going back to May 5, the couple posted alongside a different photo of themselves, "Things work out Best for Those who make the Best of how things work out. #staypositive #allwillbewell #teamangelamichael."

And on April 18, the pair wrote, "You don't care about materialistic things or how much your partner has to offer. All you know is that you love them unconditionally and you vow to give them your heart. #letlovelead #90dayfiance #stayhealthy #staysafe."

Two days earlier, Angela commented about "how time flies" given a whole two years had passed since she flew to Nigeria for the first time to meet Michael in person.
