Angela, a 53-year-old nursing assistant from Hazlehurst, GA, and Michael, a 31-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, met each other online and then Angela traveled to Nigeria to meet her love interest face-to-face for the first time.

Angela's friends and family feared Michael was taking advantage of Angela and would try to scam her out of money or for a Green Card, but Angela chose to follow her heart and apply for a K-1 visa.

While getting to know one another better, Angela struggled with the couple's age difference and her jealousy and trust issues. The pair broke up and made up multiple times after explosive arguments.

When Michael was denied a K-1 visa, Angela married Michael in Nigeria on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, despite losing the American wedding of her dreams.

The couple was then able to apply for a K-3 spousal visa after tying the knot, which Angela and Michael anticipated would take 9-18 months to be approved.

Angela also planned to have a second wedding in the United States once Michael arrived in America.

But another problem still lingered after the wedding: Michael desperately wants a biological child and Angela was told giving birth would be a serious risk to her health and she has no eggs.

And Michael also seemed to assume Angela would take on the traditional housewife role like the typical Nigerian wife -- cooking and cleaning the home -- but Angela refused that lifestyle.

During 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?'s sixth-season premiere, Angela revealed she hadn't seen Michael in seven months.

The pair was still waiting for Michael's spousal visa to be approved and Angela, weighing 273 pounds at the time, intended to go under the knife for weight-loss surgery despite not having Michael's approval.

"Michael is still going to be as young as he looked the day I married him. So if I'm not young, I need to at least look the damn part and it starts with my weight," Angela explained.

Michael explained in a confessional that he liked Angela the way she was, her curvy body and all, and the idea of pushing back their timeline on having a child upset him.

"If Angela decided not to have kids at all, I think I will have to divorce her. That makes me feel so sad and upset because I love her so much," Michael told the cameras.

Angela then met with a handsome plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Obeng, whom she flirted with at her consultation, and it was recommended to Angela that she have a breast reduction as well.

"My family is already worried to death about just the weight-loss surgery. Now I've got to tell them that I've got more news for them, and oh God, it seems like it never ends," Angela lamented in a confessional.

Prior to her surgery, Angela FaceTimed Michael from her hotel room in California and revealed her surgeon from Ghana had "medically handled" and "examined" her breasts during a consultation, which resulted in her decision to also undergo a breast reduction.

Michael seemed very unhappy with the news, and Angela complained that Michael seemed more worried about her losing her big boobs "to play with" than he was worried about her breathing and overall health.

Michael was then shown meeting up with his brother Yekini, one of Michael's 16 siblings, and Michael shared how Nigerian men value big boobs and Angela's chest is one of the things that initially attracted him to Angela.

Michael feared Angela would become skinny and beautiful and then attract other men and potentially cheat on him.

Angela then underwent her one-hour weight-loss surgery followed by a three-hour breast reduction and lift. Angela prayed all of the preparation and recovery would be worth it.

Dr. Obeng apparently took out about two pounds of breast and gave Angela a perky Double-D chest, and it appeared Angela had trouble waking up from the anesthesia.

When Michael saw Angela's new body for the first time over videochat, he seemed upset and displeased that her chest size was so much smaller. Michael's reaction really got to Angela and disappointed her.

Angela was already feeling insecure about the new size of her breasts and wished Michael would reassure her that everything was going to be fine. She wanted her husband to build her confidence up and support her.

"He made me feel worse. I shouldn't have to worry about my husband thinking I'm deformed... He should love me no matter what," Angela complained.

Angela appeared to be mentally and physically exhausted after her surgery, and she told the cameras that even strong women can reach "a breaking point."

Upon learning about Angela's desire to have a facelift, Michael appeared shocked and yelled, "I don't like this! I don't like it!" Michael even hung up the call on his wife, which really angered Angela.

"If you do the facelift now, I don't support you," Michael said, adding that he wanted to make decisions together with his wife. "I am putting my foot down. She is not doing any more surgeries."

But Angela told the cameras that she was going to do whatever she wanted to her body, whether Michael liked it or not.

The procedure was going to cost $25,000, which made Michael's jaw drop to the floor. Angela didn't think Michael had the right to complain about the money given she had financially supported their relationship since the start.

Angela wanted to do something for herself, but Michael told the cameras they could use that money towards trying to have a baby.

Angela questioned whether Michael was going to divorce her over this, but he said that was not his intention.

Angela was supposed to get her facelift surgery but her doctor apparently postponed the cosmetic procedure because she had been smoking.

Angela was disappointed she couldn't get her way and go under the knife immediately, but she apparently felt safe as one of Dr. Saadat's patients.

"Michael will be happy my facelift is canceled, possibly for good. What he doesn't realize is if I don't get this surgery, my turkey wattle is going to hang down [far] and I'm going to look older than I am. Is that what he wants?" Angela questioned.

Angela said Michael never checked on her or reached out. She didn't think her husband cared about her, and Angela complained about Michael slacking and not supporting her through her recovery from surgery.

"I guess I'm going to have to continue doing things on my own, because Michael is not supporting me at all. I don't need to man, hell -- never have and never will," Angela lamented.

Meanwhile, Michael's aunt Lydia called Angela "very selfish" and "crazy" for planning to spend so much money on a facelift. Michael's relatives questioned Angela's priorities because Michael clearly still wanted to have a baby and IVF would probably be expensive.

Michael admitted he was giving Angela the silent treatment because she wasn't listening to him and was making big decisions without his input or approval. Michael wished they could act as one body and one mind.

"After the surgery, all Angela and I do is fight, fight, fight. At this point, I don't know if I'll ever be happy being married to Angela," Michael confessed.

So are Michael and Angela still together now or has the 90 Day Fiance couple split up?

Angela and Michael got married on January 27, 2020 in Nigeria, but the wedding bliss apparently didn't last long.

Angela has admitted her long-distance relationship with Michael has been "hell."

"At one point, I was telling Michael, 'You've changed since we got married and we're not even living together yet. Don't take that for granted because there's always a damn divorce court right around the corner,'" Angela recalled in an April 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"I feel like he married me and then he [changed]. We literally went through hell and it was bad, and you'll see that."

For instance, Angela alleged Michael wasn't supportive after she underwent a gastric sleeve reduction, liposuction on her back, and a breast reduction in August 2020.

The surgeon also addressed two hernias she had and so Angela was under general anesthesia for five to six hours.

Angela, who has lost 100 pounds since her procedures, said her grandchildren were her "main support" through the long recovery process, which really caused some tension between Michael and herself.

"I can tell you he was a butt," Angela admitted.

"He was a total ass. I can tell you a little bit, that I was in this alone... You know, I did my boobs and he loved my boobs. I don't know if it was just him not being a part of it because he was over there [in Nigeria] at the time or what, but we went through it."

Angela confessed divorce "definitely" crossed her mind during that time of struggle and she even discussed breaking up with Michael with her lawyer, who gave some "good advice."

"I told my lawyer, 'I'm definitely not going to put up with this. If he's like this all the way over there, then what's he going to be like here [in the United States?]'" Angela lamented.

Angela suggested Michael has a way of bringing out the worst in her.

"Michael always gives me a reason to explode. I think he likes it when I get upset because it shows I care about him in some crazy way," Angela explained.

"He put me through hell while I was healing and it's all real. The struggle was real!"

But despite the obstacles they've faced as a married couple, Angela confirmed she and Michael are still together and working things out.

Angela recently posted an Instagram Story that showed her FaceTiming with Michael while she was out for drinks, and she posted photos and videos with Michael on Instagram in early May 2021.

Angela captions many of her posts of Michael with red-heart emojis.

For example, Angela posted a photo with Michael and her mother-in-law to wish Michael's mom a Happy Mother's Day, and she also recently shared a side-by-side TikTok video of Michael and Angela dancing to the same song.

In addition, Michael's bio on his own Instagram account reads, "I LOVE MY WIFE ANGELA."

Angela told ET that she hopes Michael can move to the United States soon, especially since the international travel ban has been lifted amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"I'm hoping and praying. We've got my lawyer looking into it and I've contacted Congress," Angela revealed.

"Hopefully we'll see what's taking so long because we've been waiting for three-and-a-half years... We're going to have an American wedding [once he arrives]!"

Angela is also still considering having a child with Michael, although she insisted she won't consider carrying a baby herself.

"I know in my heart once Michael gets here, he has a way of getting me to do things. So I'm not going to say it's out the window," Angela shared of becoming a mom again.

She elaborated, "I don't want to raise a baby alone... We'll talk about it more once he gets here and we'll go from there."

The reality TV star joked she still needs an egg in order to have a baby.

"I'm still after [my daughter] Skyla's eggs!... We'll figure it out, but right now, I want to enjoy my weight loss," Angela noted.

One thing is for certain though: Angela said she doesn't want to "tote the baby."

"Of course if he wants it, I want it for him, but we'll figure it out. I definitely won't tote it. I've come to my senses. I am too old to tote a baby," Angela explained.

"And if anybody could tote it, I know I could, but why would I want to lose all this weight and do that? We'll definitely do a surrogate and hopefully I can get some blood-related egg."
