90 Day Fiance: The Other Way featured Mary getting caught in a lie and Brandan feeling pressure to marry too soon, Daniele and Yohan considering having a baby, Kimberly fighting with TJ's brother about rules and gender roles, Julio confusing Kirsten with wishy-washy behavior, and Armando opening up about his dark past during the Season 5 episode that aired Monday night on TLC.

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's new season stars Daniele, 42, and Yohan, 33, as well as Kenny, 60, and Armando, 34.

Daniele and Yohan originally appeared on 90 Day Fiance's Love in Paradise: The Caribbean before appearing on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's fourth season. They were last shown breaking up on the show's Tell-All.

Kenny and Armando previously starred on Season 2 and Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way.

Season 5 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way also stars Brandan, a 23-year-old from Oregon, and Mary, a 23-year-old from the Philippines; Holly, a 44-year-old from Utah, and Wayne, a 40-year-old from South Africa; Tejaswi or "TJ," a 33-year-old from India, and Kimberly, a 30-year-old from Alabama; Kirsten, a 24-year-old from the Netherlands, and Julio, a 27-year-old from New York; and Sarper, a 43-year-old from Turkey, and Shekinah, a 41-year-old from Los Angeles.

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way follows American citizens moving to or living in foreign countries for the sake of love and their future spouses and experiencing culture shock.

Below is what happened on Episode 5 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's fifth season.

MARY and BRANDAN

Mary and Brandan woke up to the noisy, loud sounds of chickens and roosters, and Brandan said he had an uncomfortable sleep. His first night with Mary in the Philippines was totally different from what he thought it was going to be, and at one point, Mary left to sleep in the living room.

Mary explained to Brandan how his feet were kicking her in the head, which is why she slept somewhere else, and so Brandan suggested they should sleep with their heads on the same side of the bed going forward.

Mary could tell that Brandan was disappointed, and he certainly was, but Mary wasn't ready to be intimate. She's admittedly a shy person, and she noted how being face-to-face with Brandan was totally different from chatting on the phone 24/7.

Mary fed Brandan chicken for breakfast, and he thought it was really good. She giggled as she spoon fed her boyfriend, especially because she wanted him to get "chubby" like an adorable teddy bear.

Brandan could tell that Mary was trying to feed him big bites, but he thought the gesture was sweet.

That day, Mary's grandfather was going to teach Brandan how to farm the land and take care of the animals. Mary said that Brandan simply needed "to be man enough" to be a farmer.

Brandan then asked Mary if he could come clean to her grandparents about their first kiss at the airport.

Brandan thought her grandparents would respect him more if he's honest, but Mary said Brandan didn't realize how strict they could be and that there would be consequences for breaking the rules. Mary therefore asked Brandan to focus on the farming first.

Brandan thought he'd be trimming branches or harvesting fruit, but Mary asked Brandan to help till a rice field by walking behind a caribou, which was a lot harder than he had anticipated.

"It's the men's job to prepare the mud. I just feed the pigs and chickens at the farm. That's it," Mary revealed.

Mary's grandfather didn't think Brandan was suitable for the job, but Mary was very proud of her boyfriend for trying. Mary's grandpa also said he'd continue teaching Brandan and showing him the ropes.

Brandan said he wanted to prove he's a real man and could handle hard labor, but he told Mary that part of being a man is to be honest and not to keep secrets.

Mary wasn't sure how her grandfather was going to handle the news, but she allowed Brandan to tell him that they had kissed.

Mary's grandfather appeared angry, upset and disappointed because they hadn't asked for his blessing, but Brandan apologized for the kiss and for being disrespectful.

Brandan formally asked Mary's grandpa for permission to kiss Mary, and he replied, "Okay, I'll allow it. But you need to get married so that you strengthen your relationship. Plan out your wedding and we will have it scheduled."

Brandan said he had every intention of proposing marriage to Mary, but he wasn't planning on popping the question so fast, just because they had kissed. Regardless, he thanked Mary's grandfather for understanding and being kind.

Brandan told the cameras he and Mary had "a lot of work to do" with their insecurities and jealousy issues.

Later on, Mary took Brandan to the beach, where she introduced him to several of her male friends, whom she didn't want to lose just because she was in a relationship.

Brandan, however, didn't approve of Mary hanging out with these guys, mainly because Mary didn't want him to have any friends at all. Brandan claimed even if he made a male friend, Mary would worry and fret about the person's girlfriend being around Brandan.

Brandan told Mary's friends that he wanted to marry her, but they were concerned it was all happening so fast and they should get to know each other first.

And at one point, one of Mary's pals confessed Mary had unplugged her Wi-Fi and turned off her phone so that she could hang out with them several times without Brandan knowing. She would just tell Brandan that her house had a power outage.

"My friends want the best for me, and that's why they want Brandan and I to be honest with each other, but I feel so nervous of how Brandan will react to [this news]," Mary told the cameras.

Mary confessed the allegation was true and giggled about it, but Brandan didn't find it funny at all.

"If I did that to her, she would never forgive me," Brandan said in a confessional, adding how he didn't think Mary was the type of person who would lie to him like that.

Mary broke down into tears, saying that she didn't want to lose her friends from childhood and she was sorry. She felt guilty, knowing that she never would've allowed Brandan to have female friends.

Mary's friends therefore advised the couple to stop being jealous, and the three guys voiced how they supported their relationship.

With that being said, Brandan suggested they could all hang out and be friends, which made Mary very happy and relieved.

KIMBERLY and TEJASWI

After an explosive fight about their apartment in India, TJ asked Kimberly to take a walk with him outside in order to blow off steam and calm down. He was ready to talk to her and try to understand her point of view.

Kimberly explained how she wanted to have a good life with TJ but he needed to listen better and try to understand her needs better.

"I know I get aggressive and I know I get angry, and sometimes I can't help but cuss," Kimberly admitted. "I'm not trying to cuss you out; I'm just used to saying these things, it's how I talk."

Kimberly said she'd try harder not to raise her voice or use foul language during an argument, and TJ promised to hear her more and pay attention.

Kimberly then asked TJ to put glass on the windows, especially since it was cold at night, and that she needed a bathroom door for privacy. She also recommended that they should have fights without getting his family involved since it was going to be their marriage.

TJ told Kimberly that he was so happy to have her in his life, and she in turn, expressed how she loved him from the bottom of her heart. Kimberly, however, knew it was going to be very challenging to live and constantly interact with his family in the same household.

With only a week to go until Kimberly and TJ's traditional Hindu wedding, rituals began. TJ's family had intentions of putting on a good ceremony and making the couple's marriage last.

TJ's mother said she considered Kim to be one of her children but "creating a ruckus" was not okay and she was angry at TJ's future bride. Kimberly, who felt super uncomfortable after her big fight with TJ, sent TJ's mother a text message, apologizing for yelling and disrupting the peace in her home.

Kimberly, however, had yet to learn about what TJ's expectations for her were going to be in the home.

Later on, Kimberly went shopping for bangles with TJ's brother. She described their relationship as "cordial," but they got into an argument about gender roles.

Kimberly admitted they're both "dominant" and like things done a certain way.

Kimberly expressed to TJ's brother how she didn't feel free and able to do whatever she wanted. For example, she wasn't allowed to eat pork or beef, and she also was told she could only eat garlic once a week.

"If one day I decide to eat meat again, what would happen?" Kimberly asked.

"If you eat pork or beef, we cannot say that you are in our family," TJ's brother replied.

"So I have to obey your rules for the rest of my life or else I can't be in your family?" Kimberly questioned.

TJ's brother explained how if Kimberly opposed their traditions and/or beliefs, she would just be making it harder for TJ, who would be sandwiched between his wife and his family.

Kimberly admitted she didn't want to live with TJ's family to begin with and she was sacrificing more for her relationship, but TJ's brother thought TJ was sacrificing more.

Kimberly said this living situation was not ideal for her, and then TJ's brother poked fun at her for being obsessed with garlic. Kimberly just said she didn't want to lose herself in the changes she'd be making for other people.

TJ's brother said it wasn't okay for Kimberly to openly express her opinions in India and that she had an "ego," which made him fearful for TJ's future marriage. He could tell that Kimberly wasn't going to be willing to compromise on things.

TJ's brother then appeared to call Kimberly "stupid," and she snapped back, "Don't you dare ever call me stupid!"

He claimed that he was just saying Kimberly was "acting with stupidity," but it didn't matter -- she was furious!

DANIELE and YOHAN

Yohan said he felt happy, positive and content around Daniele's two close friends from the United States.

When asked if they were ready for kids, Daniele -- who has a 22-year-old son -- said, "I feel like right now, I have the energy to have a kid. I have the energy to have two kids. I don't know if I'll have that energy two years from now."

Becoming a dad was apparently very important to Yohan, who said he would love to have two children. And he admitted that he wanted to have sex with Daniele every day in order to better her chances of getting pregnant.

Daniele and Yohan had been trying, unsuccessfully, but Yohan advised his wife to be patient because God was eventually going to bless them with a baby.

About one year prior, Daniele and Yohan had visited a fertility clinic to discover their odds of conceiving naturally. Daniele was told she had a low egg count and so her chance of getting pregnant was probably only five percent.

Daniele knew getting pregnant after age 40 was going to be difficult, so the couple was open to using an egg donor. They had cost and consequences to consider, and Daniele's friends advised them to take their time and not rush into it.

After all, Daniele had just recently gotten married and moved to the Dominican Republic, and Yohan didn't have a job or income at the moment.

Daniele, her friends, and Yohan proceeded to spend time with Yohan's welcoming family at a beach.

Daniele's friends thought that Yohan's family was absolutely wonderful, and Daniele loved watching her husband interact with his nieces and nephews.

Daniele wanted her future child to have the structure and discipline she was used to with the fun and carefree childhood Yohan's nieces and nephews got to experience.

"It's not easy being a disciplinarian, so when Yohan and I have kids, I want to make sure that we're on the same page about how to raise them. I need to make sure that I'm not raising my husband along with my kids," Daniele reasoned.

KIRSTEN and JULIO

Kirsten was still upset the day after the Halloween party because Julio hadn't told his family about her and talked about living separately once he moved to the Netherlands.

Julio took his suggestion back and apologized to Kirsten for ruining their night, but Kirsten wasn't sure if she could believe her partner.

"The way he is acting, I feel like there's more distance between us in the relationship," Kirsten said.

But Kirsten was determined to make the best out of her last day in America with Julio, who still felt unsure about his decision to move since things were moving really fast.

Julio admitted things weren't "flowing" with Kirsten but that she had a lot thrown at her and handled it pretty well, for the most part.

"I have some concerns and I have to really start thinking about this and what my next steps moving forward are," Julio noted in a confessional.

While eating a good American breakfast, Kirsten pointed out how she loved the pizza in New York City but couldn't see herself living in the United States permanently.

"I don't want to live here," Kirsten firmly stated.

Julio said he was just talking about Kirsten visiting for a month or so to spend time with his family, but she didn't know where this was coming from.

Julio confessed her was nervous about giving up his culture, food, friends and relatives. He therefore wondered if they could spend time in both places, even though he had already committed to a life in the Netherlands.

"Maybe I didn't think things through, and we've been fighting more and arguing more. It's just a lot to think about," Julio explained.

Kirsten accused Julio of coming up with "silly excuses" for not wanting to leave the U.S., such as his love for food in NYC. She thought there was a larger issue at hand and didn't understand what was going on. Kirsten was beginning to fear for their relationship.

KENNY and ARMANDO

Armando was shown having coffee with his mother alone after their tense and tearful family dinner. Armando explained his biggest reason for leaving San Felipe was because he didn't feel supported as a gay man.

Armando said he hated himself for a while because he wasn't what his parents wanted him to be. He had prayed to not be gay anymore, and he told his mom that he considered ending his life at one point.

"In those dark moments, Hannah was my light and my reason to stay alive," Armando shared. "I didn't want her to have the pain of also losing her father, so she's my little savior -- and she doesn't know it."

Armando's mother said she regretted not seeing what her son had suffered through and that she loved him very much.

"I'm sorry," Armando's mother cried in her son's arms. "I love you, but I'm glad you were strong and were able to pull through alone."

Armando's mother didn't even want to imagine losing him to suicide, because it hurt her so much, and so Armando suggested they could leave that in the past and move forward understanding each other better.

Armando said he was considering Kenny's feelings when thinking about moving to Mexico City and that Hannah would have more opportunities at school, such as playing sports. Armando's mother therefore gave her permission for him to move.

Armando said it was finally time to make a decision and that his family was ready to embrace change, including possibly having a baby.

Armando planned to visit a surrogacy clinic in Mexico City, which would be the ultimate convincing factor for him in regards to the potential move.
