The eight Americans include Elise, a bold and outspoken woman who looked for love on 90 Day: Hunt for Love earlier this year. Elise is apparently hoping to settle down with a man named Joshua from Australia.

In addition to Elise, a 32-year-old from Florida, and Joshua, a 39-year-old from Australia, the show is also going to star Jovon, a 38-year-old from Alabama, and Annalyn, a 38-year-old from the Philippines, as well as Aviva, a 26-year-old from Arizona, and Stig, a 30-year-old from Belize.

The rest of the couples are Laura, a 47-year-old from Washington, and Birkan, a 26-year-old from Turkey; Emma, a 28-year-old from California, and Ziad, a 27-year-old from Morocco; Forrest, a 32-year-old from Oregon, and Sheena, a 40-year-old from the Philippines; Rick, a 52-year-old from California, and Trisha, a 25-year-old from Madagascar; and Lisa, a 51-year-old from Pennsylvania, and Daniel, a 39-year-old from Nigeria.

"These couples are stepping into the unknown, driven by love but challenged by distance, doubt, and deep cultural divides," TLC teased.

"From conflicting expectations and family pressure to hidden pasts and even surveillance-level possessiveness, the stakes have never been higher for these unconventional love stories."

In most 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days cases, a pair of lovebirds are hoping to get engaged and begin the K-1 Visa process.

Below is what happened on Episode 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' eighth season.

LISA and DANIEL

Lisa said she was "nervous, excited and scared to death" to meet her Nigerian man in person for the first time.

Lisa worried Daniel would think she's too old for him or that he wouldn't be attracted to her.

"Daniel could be scamming... but all I can think about is touching his face and feeling the dimples in his cheeks and feel his beard. I want to just pull him in and kiss him," Lisa told the cameras.

Lisa was shown packing a few wigs for her trip to Nigeria because she wanted to look beautiful for Daniel, and so she planned to stay in her wigs around the clock and sleep in them.

Lisa had lied about her past to Daniel, including how she's been married to women in the past and was still technically married to a woman.

Lisa explained that she had told Daniel that she's "free to marry" because she feels that way in her heart. Lisa said she and her ex-wife had been separated for nine years but they never got around to signing the divorce papers until now.

"I'm going to come clean on this trip and tell him everything! I'm not going to accept the marriage proposal until we have this conversation. He's going to know about it beforehand," Lisa told her daughter.

Lisa asked her daughter Faith to trust her, but Faith was terrified that her mom was going to marry Daniel in Nigeria before she was ready.

"Would I go against Faith's wishes? I want to say no, but my heart says, 'Hold onto Daniel and do it. Jump with both feet in!'" Faith shared in a confessional.

"I want to be Mrs. Daniel. I want to be with him, I want to be a part of him, I want to be his wife. So I don't know what I would do. I really don't know."

Daniel then revealed that he had grown up very poor and so his mother wanted him to meet a white woman. Daniel said Lisa was exactly who he was looking for and he thought she was sexy.

Daniel was concerned about Lisa's two past marriages, however, and the fact she had been with a woman before. But he didn't know she was still technically married.

JOVON and ANNALYN

Jovon, who works in a nursing home in Alabama, said he loves his job, although it's low paying.

"I think that's where I fall short with women. American women, they want six-pack, six figures and six inches -- and it's not me," Jovon told the cameras.

Jovon was therefore prepared to travel to the Philippines, where he was about to meet his wife in person for the first time.

Jovon had married a 38-year-old woman named Annalyn about five years prior, and the pair had been married for over two years at the time the 90 Day Fiance spinoff filmed.

Jovon and Annalyn wanted to meet during COVID-19, but the travel restrictions left the couple feeling "hopeless."

Annalyn said she was afraid she was going to lose Jovon and then she found on social media that some couples were getting married online. Annalyn thought she had found a loophole that would allow Jovon to fly to the Philippines as her spouse.

Jovon admitted the idea shocked him at first and he "had doubts" but then he ended up going through with it. Jovon said he never envisioned his wedding day being a Zoom call but it was still the happiest day of his life.

"I finally have my perfect wife. I just need to meet her in person," Jovon quipped.

Jovon said the pair had tried to meet up several times over the years but the trip was too expensive. Jovon also claimed Annalyn changed because she used to be sweeter and more patient.

Annalyn argued that Jovon always knew she's a feisty woman who doesn't like being told what to do.

"I don't like being controlled," Annalyn told the cameras.

Jovon revealed that he and Annalyn were fighting through text all the time and so they needed to spend physical time together before he could file for a K-1 visa and move her to the U.S.

Jovon said he loved Annalyn and was going to give their relationship everything he had. However, he worried maybe their problems were too big to resolve.

"If we can't, I don't know how this marriage is going to work," Jovon noted.

One of the couple's issues included Jovon's platonic friend whom Annalyn allegedly didn't like him talking to. This relationship upset Annalyn, but Jovon didn't know how to handle it going forward.

Annalyn actually blocked Jovon, which worried him given his trip was coming up. Jovon also didn't feel like Annalyn supported him and showed up for him when he needed her.

For example, Annalyn advised Jovon to seek therapy for his hardships in life rather than speaking to her about them and working through them together.

EMMA and ZIAD

Ziad said he wanted to be Emma's husband but they needed more time to get to know each other.

Emma said she and Ziad were moving separately and it bothered her because she had pictured them snuggling, kissing and waking up to a pot of coffee.

But Emma, trying to be positive and optimistic, met Ziad for breakfast outside with a smile on her face.

Emma told Ziad that they didn't have a good start in Morocco but she wanted to say sorry for running away from his kiss at the airport and walking away from him when he was talking to her.

Emma acknowledged their first day together was dramatic but she had been traveling for 20 hours.

Emma proceeded to inform Ziad that she had gotten fired from the job she loved, which really surprised Ziad.

Emma broke down into tears and cried about how she didn't know what she was going to do. Ziad promised Emma that she was going to be fine and he wanted her to enjoy her trip in the meantime.

"He's showing me that he cares about what I'm going through," Emma said, adding how their reunion was just a one-off "tornado" or "earthquake."

Emma and Ziad quickly discovered they have different taste in food, but they had fun on a horse-drawn carriage.

Ziad asked Emma not to talk about her past with him, but she said he didn't know everything about her and maybe he should want to learn more.

"I want to be vulnerable and I want to share details about who I am and my past, and I really want to be able to tell Ziad about my last engagement because I think it's the only way we can move forward," Emma explained.

"But for him to shut me down, it does make me wonder... [Maybe] there's something he's hiding or that he doesn't want to tell me. Since I got to Morocco, I've just felt really rejected by him, and so now I'm just feeling a little concerned about everything."

SHEENA and FORREST

Forrest was bummed out that he couldn't stay at Sheena's apartment in the Philippines. Sheena's parents apparently owned the apartment and wouldn't allow Forrest to stay there unless he paid rent.

Sheena and Forrest agreed it was rude and didn't make sense, but Sheena had told Forrest that there was nothing she could do about it.

Since Sheena and Forrest had to stay in a place with Forrest's mother, he hoped the couple could be quiet in the bedroom.

Forrest gifted Sheena lingerie and asked her to try it on for him. While they were both virgins, Sheena said Forrest made her feel confident in her body.

Forrest admitted he was very nervous to have sex with Sheena but it was going to be a big deal for the both of them and would put them in the right headspace going forward.

The next morning, Forrest joked about how Sheena was "into being physical" at night and he loved being able to hold her and kiss her.

Although Forrest was drawn to Sheena, he asked her if they could wait to get to know each other a little bit better first. Sex was a huge step for the both of them, and Forrest noted, "We'll know when the time is right -- also, probably, when my mom is not around."

Forrest's mom Molly asked the couple if they had sex, and they both replied, "No," with Forrest adding, "It wasn't the time or place to do that."

Molly said they could come to her with any questions, and his stepdad pointed out how it "takes practice to be good at it." This whole exchange was awkward for the couple, especially for Sheena.

Forrest reprimanded his mother, saying he was pushing them too far. The reaction shocked Forrest's mother since it was a 180 from their normal conversations.

This angered Forrest's mother, who was still upset about Sheena's parents repeatedly stealing her son's money.

During the family's first full day in the Philippines, Sheena took them to Chinatown for dinner.

While eating, Molly asked Sheena to look her in the eye and be truthful.

"You lied to us about giving your parents the money. This was supposed to be you saving up money so you could come to America and be with us," Molly told Sheena.

When asked why she had lied about the money, Sheena said she owed Molly millions of explanations.

Sheena explained that being a breadwinner is a cultural thing in her country. She said she was obligated to help her parents and that's why she had given them the money.

"But my issue with it is that you lied," Molly noted.

"I was so scared. My mom was guilt-tripping me from time to time. If I don't give them money, she makes me feel like I'm such a selfish person and it hurts me a lot," Sheena explained.

Molly asked why Sheena had continued to hide what was happening, and Sheena was apparently buckling under the pressure.

Forrest said he wanted to step in and defend his love -- but he also wanted to learn more about the situation.

Sheena started to cry and kept dodging Molly's direct questions, and then Molly accused her of "manipulation." Molly just wanted her to acknowledge her alleged unacceptable behavior.

Forrest slammed Molly for acting "hostile" and ruining their nice dinner. Molly claimed her son had "blinders" on and she'd never stop protecting him or trying to find out why Sheena had lied to them.

LAURA and BIRKAN

Laura's plane had just landed in Izmir, Turkey, and she said she couldn't believe that she was about to meet Birkan. She hoped he was going to be attracted to her and grow to love her even more in person.

Birkan said he'd love to get engaged to Laura and move to the United States with her.

"He looks amazing -- exactly the aesthetic I've been describing," Laura said.

And Birkan called Laura "perfect," saying he didn't even need to look at her because she completed his heart.

But once the pair boarded the train, it got a little awkward between them. Laura said it felt like they were total strangers and she hoped their romance would develop into what she had experienced with him online.

After a day of sightseeing, Laura said she was exhausted and needed to go to bed. Michael, however, was blowing up her phone and checking on her constantly.

Laura pointed out how her interactions with Birkan were still awkward and so she feared he wasn't attracted to her in person.
