90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days featured Daniel proposing marriage to Lisa, Forrest standing up to his mother, Annalyn accusing Jovon of toxic masculinity, Emma and Ziad struggling to trust each other, and Laura taking Birkan on the worst first date during the Season 8 episode that aired Sunday night on TLC.

The eight Americans include Elise, a bold and outspoken woman who looked for love on 90 Day: Hunt for Love earlier this year. Elise is apparently hoping to settle down with a man named Joshua from Australia.
In addition to Elise, a 32-year-old from Florida, and Joshua, a 39-year-old from Australia, the show is also going to star Jovon, a 38-year-old from Alabama, and Annalyn, a 38-year-old from the Philippines, as well as Aviva, a 26-year-old from Arizona, and Stig, a 30-year-old from Belize.
The rest of the couples are Laura, a 47-year-old from Washington, and Birkan, a 26-year-old from Turkey; Emma, a 28-year-old from California, and Ziad, a 27-year-old from Morocco; Forrest, a 32-year-old from Oregon, and Sheena, a 40-year-old from the Philippines; Rick, a 52-year-old from California, and Trisha, a 25-year-old from Madagascar; and Lisa, a 51-year-old from Pennsylvania, and Daniel, a 39-year-old from Nigeria.
"These couples are stepping into the unknown, driven by love but challenged by distance, doubt, and deep cultural divides," TLC teased.
"From conflicting expectations and family pressure to hidden pasts and even surveillance-level possessiveness, the stakes have never been higher for these unconventional love stories."
In most 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days cases, a pair of lovebirds are hoping to get engaged and begin the K-1 Visa process.
Below is what happened on Episode 5 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' eighth season.
FORREST and SHEENA
Forrest and Sheena were shown shopping in the Philippines a couple of days into Forrest's trip. Forrest said being with Sheena every day, and having the opportunity to hold hands and kiss her whenever he wanted, felt "amazing."Because Forrest is about 6'2", most of the clothes in the stores didn't fit him. Forrest admitted that he regretted not packing more of his own clothes, but he joked about being able to buy "a banana hammock."
Forrest was grateful to have this alone time with Sheena, who had recovered from her fight with Molly and subsequent emotional breakdown.
RELATED LINK: '90 DAY FIANCE' COUPLES NOWSheena had agreed to confront her parents about their financial issues, and so that gave Forrest some relief.
"I would plan a meeting for you so that you can explain the situation... that we're trying to save, you have a lot of plans for us, and that you want to move me to the U.S.," Sheena explained to Forrest, adding how Forrest needed to prove to her parents that he was serious about her and their relationship.
Forrest claimed Sheena had never told him that he needed her parents' approval for them to be together and wed, and so this caught him by surprise.
Given Sheena's parents had allegedly stolen his money, Forrest apparently didn't think he owed them anything.
Forrest chose to be agreeable and go along with Sheena's request, but Forrest knew his mother was going to explode over this update.
"I'm scared," Forrest confessed.
Forrest decided the best course of action would be to meet Sheena's parents alone, without his own parents being present. Forrest predicted that Molly was going to "freak out" and fight him "tooth and nail" to allow herself to accompany him.
Sheena continued to show Forrest and Molly the best of her country, which Molly appreciated, but Molly still wanted to get to the bottom of things. Molly wasn't sure that Sheena had the best of intentions with her son.

Molly promised that she'd be on her best behavior if Forrest allowed her to come, but Forrest clarified, "We want you to be there. We just want you to go the next day... In reality, you are a very hardcore person."
Forrest asked Molly to treat him like an adult and trust him, but Molly responded, "I cannot trust Sheena yet. And I cannot trust you now."

Molly thought Forrest would sacrifice everything for Sheena and so she needed to protect him.
"This is total bullsh-t," Molly lamented to the cameras.
Sheena told Molly that she was a grown adult and her parents weren't bad people, but that was a different story from when Sheena had claimed her parents would bully and criticize her for being a bad daughter if she couldn't give them money.
Molly then questioned if Sheena was scamming her son and had been a part of her parents' plot to take Forrest's money all along.
Forrest yelled at his mother, saying that she couldn't control herself. He said this was the exact reason why he didn't want Molly to meet Sheena's parents right away.
LISA and DANIEL
Daniel was anticipating Lisa's arrival in Lagos, Nigeria, and he said he couldn't wait to see her and spend time with her."I'm really nervous. I planned a lot of things to welcome her from the airport. She has no idea," Daniel proudly told the cameras.
But Lisa still had to tell Daniel that she was still legally married to a woman -- and that she had dated women for the past 21 years.
Lisa had promised her daughter Faith that she'd tell Daniel about her past before getting engaged and that she wouldn't get married in Nigeria, but a part of Lisa was ready to run away with Daniel and take their relationship to the next level.

Lisa lamented about how she didn't feel perfect, especially since she could manipulate her makeup and the lighting in her bedroom when she FaceTimed with Daniel at home.
Lisa went into this meeting with a lot of fear, including the possibility that Daniel may scam her or reject her, but she decided to put her heart on the line for love.
When Lisa and Daniel finally met at the airport, they hugged and kissed. The pair both seemed so excited and happy to be together.
Daniel called Lisa "an irresistible, beautiful angel" after meeting, and once they walked out of the airport, Daniel surprised her with a group of local dancers putting on a performance for her.
Once the music stopped, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Lisa, "Will you marry me?"
JOVON and ANNALYN
Jovon was one step closer to meeting his wife Annalyn, whom he called Anna, in-person for the first time at a resort in Bicol. They were going to enjoy their honeymoon and explore physical intimacy."I really do love her, so I'm praying that this marriage wasn't a huge mistake. I can't wait to see her," Jovon told the cameras.
Anna described herself as bubbly, talkative and hardworking, but because she was trying to maintain a relationship in different time zones, she claimed she couldn't hold a job. Jovon therefore sent her about $500 a month, according to Anna.
Anna had spent six years dedicated to Jovon, and so her mother hoped this was going to work out for her. Anna's mother claimed that Anna's entire world revolved around Jovon and that she didn't spend much time with her friends anymore.
Jovon and Anna recently got into a fight because Jovon was talking to a woman he once had feelings for. Anna said it felt like "a betrayal" to her -- but that argument was only the beginning of their problems.
"He wants to be in control," Anna's mother warned her.

Anna said Jovon had accused her of changing but she thought he was the one who had changed.
"After we got married, he started watching podcasts about masculinity and stuff," Anna alleged.
"They teach the men to find women soft, feminine and submissive. Suddenly, you have this idea in your head that I should be like this as a woman. What the hell?! We were not like this before. I feel like he's trying to change me into a person that I'm not."
Anna explained that if she didn't agree with Jovon, he expected her to be quiet. Anna, however, shared how she's an opinionated woman who likes to ask questions, and so she couldn't meet his expectations.
Anna was afraid that she and Jovon were going to fight the whole time and it wasn't going to last.
When Jovon and Anna finally met each other at the airport, Anna cried tears of joy, and Jovon said she was everything he ever hoped for and more.
Anna called Jovon "handsome, tall and perfect," and she added, "This feels like a dream. It's so surreal and I just want more kisses!"
Once the pair got to their hotel room and Jovon took his shoes off, Anna complained that his feet smelled terribly. She acknowledged that she had a lot to learn about her husband.
Before bed, Anna came out of the bathroom in a red silk nightgown, and she said the couple was off to a great start.
LAURA and BIRKAN
Laura said she was upset and disappointed after going to bed alone in Birkan's home."I felt really disconnected that whole first day," Laura said.

"But the whole time, I was thinking that my worst fear -- him not being attracted to me in person -- has just come true," Laura explained.
"But it didn't," Birkan assured her.
Laura apparently had a conversation with Birkan in the middle of the night and it led to the pair making out.
According to Laura, Birkan put the brakes on having sex, and so she still had some concerns about his feelings and attraction to her.
During Laura's second day in Turkey, Birkan brought her to a plastic surgeon, whom she wanted to meet about having a skin-removal surgery, mainly in her stomach area.
Laura admitted this was the most "unromantic" date possible but there was only one open appointment during her time in Turkey. Laura said it felt weird to do this with Birkan, especially since they had only made out in-person.
Birkan told the cameras that Laura worried about her appearance too much because no one is perfect.
"But it's her body and she's not happy with it. That's why I support her," Birkan shared in a confessional.
Laura had quite a bit of loose skin after losing weight. She was once 315 pounds.
The plastic surgeon took photos of Laura's midsections and put them on a big screen for both of them to see. This moment horrified Laura and made her regret her decision to bring Birkan along.
Birkan insisted the pictures surprised him but he didn't really feel uncomfortable. He said it wasn't going to be a problem for him, although Laura admittedly felt very "insecure."

After the appointment, Laura told Birkan that she felt embarrassed, but he assured her that she shouldn't feel that way. Birkan told Laura to do whatever she needed to regain her confidence because he already thought she was gorgeous.
"I will be by your side," Birkan promised Laura, which gave her the validation she had been hoping for.
EMMA and ZIAD
Emma and Ziad took a cooking class together in which they made tangine with chicken and lemon.Ziad told Emma that he had finally let his parents know about her arrival in Morocco; however, he had yet to arrange a meeting.
Ziad claimed his father was "always traveling," but it frustrated Emma because she couldn't see his actual apartment or meet his family.
"It makes me feel like he's hiding me or hiding something about his life, and that's not okay," Emma shared in a confessional.
Emma asked Ziad if he had spoken with other American girls online, considering they had met on an international dating app, and Ziad replied, "No."
"You didn't message anyone?" Emma asked.
"No," Ziad replied.
Emma said Ziad was lying to her because before she had traveled to Morocco, she discovered that he was still talking to other women online.
"He told me that he wasn't cheating on me, but I'm not so sure about that. So I downloaded this extension on my laptop, and it shows you, in order, who people follow," Emma explained to the cameras.

Emma said she was putting the pieces together and it made her wonder if he even wanted this relationship.
"I think it's time to find out, 'What's the real story here?'" Emma said.
Emma felt like Ziad kept changing his story and was acting different in-person than the man she had gotten to know online and over the phone.
While eating the meal they cooked, Emma asked Ziad if he had been talking to any women on social media. Emma called Ziad out for following a lot of girls, but Ziad said he simply followed the people back who had followed him first.
Ziad said if a woman sent him a message and complimented him, he would just reply, "Thanks."
Ziad insisted that he never cheated on Emma and never would. He said he wasn't hiding anything from her.
Ziad, for his part, was also wondering if Emma was keeping a secret from him. Ziad claimed that Emma had ghosted him at the beginning of their romance, and so he asked for details on what happened.
"I was just going through a bad breakup," Emma replied.
"[You're] still talking to him," Ziad noted.
Emma explained how she wasn't in the right headspace to start a new relationship, and she was shocked that he was bringing this up.
"I did drop him and disappear because I was trying to make things work with my ex," Emma admitted in a confessional, adding how Ziad probably wouldn't take that news well.
