90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days featured Darcey Silva rejecting Tom Brooks' attempt to potentially reconcile, David Murphey failing to track down Lana in Ukraine, Avery Warner and Ash Naeck fighting over gender roles, Ed Brown considering proposing to Rosemarie Vega, and Lisa Hamme finally receiving permission to marry Usman "SojaBoy" Umar during Sunday night's Season 4 episode on TLC.

Like 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' first three seasons, the fourth season follows Americans who started online romantic relationships with overseas partners as they travel overseas hoping to get engaged to someone they've never met in person and then begin the K-1 Visa immigration process.

Along the way, they've encountered challenges that include large age gaps, language barriers, cultural issues, and questionable pasts.

Couples who appeared on Episode 10 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' fourth season were David, a 60-year-old from Las Vegas, NV; Avery, a 32-year-old from Seattle, WA, and Ash, a 38-year-old from Melbourne, Australia; Yolanda, a 51-year-old from Las Vegas, NV; Lisa, a 52-year-old from York, PA, and Usman, a 30-year-old from Kaduna, Nigeria; and Darcey, a 45-year-old from Middletown, CT, and Tom, a 39-year-old from Nottingham, United Kingdom.

The remaining couples were Ed, a 54-year-old San Diego, CA, and Rosemarie, a 23-year-old from Caloocan, Philippines; Stephanie Matto, a 29-year-old from Yonkers, NY, and Erika Owens, a 24 year-old from Port Augusta, Australia; and Geoffrey Paschel, a 41-year-old from Knoxville, TN, and Varya Malina, a 30-year-old from Ryazan, Russia.

Viewers, however, have yet to discover whether Yolanda's boyfriend Williams, a 40-year-old from England, and David's girlfriend Lana, a 27-year-old from Ukraine, actually exist.

Below is what was shown on the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days.

David showed up to Lana's front door at her apartment complex and rang the doorbell, only to have an elderly man answer. The man wished David a good afternoon, and David asked for Lana.

The man said he didn't know anyone who goes by the name of Lana or looks like her after David showed a photo of the stunning blonde.

David explained he was Lana's boyfriend and she had given him that address as her home, but the man insisted he had lived in the building since 1995 and had never seen a woman like that enter or leave the building.

"No one like that here," the man said.

David acknowledged Lana must have given him the wrong address and he didn't know what she was doing. David said he had "enough," and the man in the building told the cameras American men shouldn't try to meet Ukrainian women over the Internet.

"I don't know what to say. The whole thing has been a huge disappointment -- and emotional ride and a let down... I'm completely drained," David said in a confessional.

"This is too much. The up and down is too much. I'm done."

David returned to Odesa without Lana, and he just wanted to go home and continue on with his life. David thought he and Lana would be starting a life together in an RV, but he acknowledged he must have ignored some warning signs and red flags.

"I certainly didn't expect this. I could never have imagined that this trip would end like it has. Now I'm getting on a plane and heading back to the United States -- alone," David shared.

David wasn't sure how he was going to return to his old life considering he thought his future was going to include Lana. After all, the pair had talked for hundreds of hours.

"I want to say Lana has stood me up for the last time," David noted.

"But I know if she just writes to me and suddenly invites me into a chat, that's it! That's all it takes and I'm hooked again. Everything inside me says I'm done with her, but I still love her, so I don't know what's going to happen. I have a lot of thinking to do."

Ed and Rose were taking off for a vacation, and Rose said goodbye to her son Prince and that she'd see him again soon. Ed also gave Prince a hug goodbye and was sad to leave him.

But Ed said he just wanted some alone time with Rose to test whether her feelings for him were real and she didn't just view him as her ticket out of the Philippines.

Ed had decided not to mention how Rose's sister Maria allegedly asked him for money, but he was waiting for the right time to bring it up and figure out whether Rose had anything to do with it.

Ed and Rose flew to a nearby island, Palawan, where they could relax on a beach, and Ed still planned to propose marriage -- although he had some lingering doubts about Rose's intentions and their relationship.

The next day, Ed and Rose woke up in a hotel together in Palawan, and Ed surprised his girlfriend with a new bikini as well as pink lingerie known as a teddy. The couple had only made love once, but Ed insisted they had good chemistry.

Ed then gave Rose a toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash. Ed admitted Rose's breath wasn't good, but he told Rose that he was concerned about her health and keeping disease out of her mouth. Rose explained she had an ulcer and that Ed was being rude and had embarrassed her.

Ed told Rose that he simply cared about her and her well-being, but Rose noted she wanted to punch him in the face.

"If Ed truly [loves] me, he needs to accept me for who I am," Rose said in a confessional.

Ed told the cameras he had screwed up that morning by mentioning Rose had bad breath, so he planned a fun day for them. Rose said Ed's behavior made her feel "small" but she was willing to give him another chance.

Ed and Rose went on an excursion to see monkeys, and a monkey even stole a banana out of Ed's bag. They weren't the cute little monkeys Ed had been expecting, and Ed admitted he was "sh-tting [his] pants."

Rose said she loved the monkeys and told Ed not to be scared. She thought it was funny and poked fun at her boyfriend.

That night, Ed planned a romantic dinner for Rose by the pool and he hoped the evening would bring them closer together. Ed told Rose that she looked beautiful, and she was starting to feel love for Ed as they bonded over champagne and conversation.

Ed told Rose that he wanted a woman who loved him and would never leave him. When Rose asked Ed if he wanted that with her, Ed replied, "I think so, but I'm not 100 percent sure."

With that being said, Ed brought up his concern about Maria asking him for money before his trip to the Philippines. Ed claimed Maria had asked for his help but also requested he not tell Rose anything.

"Did you know about that?" Ed asked. "I didn't know if you knew."

Rose's leg appeared to be shaking under the table, but she insisted she had no idea about Maria asking for money from him.

Rose asked Ed if he thought she loved him for his money, and he just wasn't quite sure. Rose told Ed that she was hurt because he wasn't seeing her love or believing it was sincere.

Rose wanted to hear her sister's side of the story but told Ed that she didn't want his money.

"I wasn't sure if you were involved, but you're telling me you were not. So, okay, I believe you," Ed responded. "Your sister made me doubt you, but no more. I am 100 percent sure that you are being honest... I promise."

Rose said if she and Ed both continued to be honest, their relationship would be good. Ed was feeling like he could completely trust Rose, but he didn't think he could trust Maria.

Ed therefore asked Rose if they could speak to Maria together about the problem, and Rose agreed. Ed said he felt relieved, and Rose told the cameras she was angry at Maria for going behind her back and asking Ed for money.

"I don't want money. I love [Ed] and want to be a wife to him," Rose said in a confessional.

Rose told her boyfriend that she wanted to build a family with him and have two more children, but Ed was planning to get a vasectomy.

"I don't want more kids. I'm not sure how she's going to feel about that. I am freaking out again," Ed told the cameras.

But instead of telling Rose the truth in that moment, he kissed her and just said, "I love you."

The next day, Ed and Rose enjoyed some time in a hammock on the beach and he said he could imagine himself waking up next to Rose every day for the rest of his life.

Ed, however, needed advice on how to tell Rose that he didn't want to have any more kids, and so he FaceTimed with his pal Rich. Ed apparently already had an appointment booked for a vasectomy in the U.S., so Rich warned Ed not to propose marriage without being honest with Rose.

Rich told Ed to give Rose the opportunity to leave him if she didn't want to get married without the possibility of having children. Rich essentially said Ed owed that to Rose and he needed to let her make up her own mind, but Ed was afraid to lose her over this.

"Well, then it's not meant to be," Rich told his friend.

Ed prayed Rose would choose them as a couple over wanting more kids, but he wasn't sure how she was going to react.

Avery only had one week left in Australia, and they were heading back to Ash's home in Melbourne after a romantic getaway. Avery wasn't comfortable with how Ash, a relationship coach, seemed to conduct himself with female clients, and it made things worse when Ash became defensive.

Ash said Avery probably felt intimidated or threatened by his female clients but that wasn't fair and her lack of trust in him could be destructive in their relationship.

One of Avery's biggest concerns was how Ash's ex, Sian, would react to them moving to America with Ash's son, so Ash organized a meeting for the two women, which made Avery happy and relieved.

But before that meeting, Avery was going to watch Ash speak at a seminar for single women.

Avery looked forward to seeing the professional side of Ash and how professional he truly was with other women.

Avery was hoping the seminar would give her the reassurance she needed to continue a relationship with Ash and be happy.

"If I do detect something shady or manipulative, we will part ways for good," Avery told the cameras.

Avery was still suspicious of Ash's intentions, and she acknowledged she wouldn't bring him to America without having the utmost confidence in him and the sincerity of his career and work.

Ash hoped Avery would see his passion, and he spoke to the women about how to find men. Ash explained men's brains are completely different from women's brains, and Avery was getting "sexist" vibes from her boyfriend and could sense tension in the room.

Ash said men like to think of nothing sometimes while women have numerous ideas and thoughts bouncing around at once.

However, a woman at the seminar argued men and women have more in common that he thought and both sexes can be both masculine and feminine. The woman thought Ash was basically out of his league on this topic.

Ash stopped his lecture about halfway through and admitted to cameras to the cameras he had "f-cked up." Ash lost his train of thought and told the room of women he needed a moment -- which turned into a long break. Ash essentially choked and Avery was shocked at what she had just observed.

Avery told Ash in private that he needed to stop comparing men and women and instead talk about the five love languages. Avery said Ash didn't really prepare what he was going to talk about at this seminar and so she hoped his intentions were just being communicated poorly.

Ash told the women they're emotional, nurturing and caring, while the man's perspective is to work, bring money home and fix problems.

"I'm starting to worry that he actually believes some of the things he's saying right now, and when it comes to gender roles, that can absolutely be a dealbreaker for me if we're not on the same page about what my role is in the relationship," Avery told the cameras.

Ash said for attraction to be present, people need to be opposites and a feminine energy will attract a masculine energy or vice versa. Ash explained a person exactly like you is a friend, not a passion.

As the women challenged him, Ash entered defense mode, and Stephanie said it was "alarming" he was not backing down. One woman at the seminar, Bronte, told the cameras Ash's teachings weren't based in reality and she had heard nothing useful for the modern woman.

Avery said she was uncomfortable with how everything went down. She didn't see relationships in black and white like Ash seemed to, and she began rethinking who Ash is.

Ash told Avery afterwards his seminar didn't go as he had expected, and Avery was concerned her boyfriend was sexist. Avery tried to find out whether Ash really believed what he had said, and so she explained to Ash that masculine and feminine energies have "nothing to do with gender."

"It has everything to do with that, actually," Ash countered, before telling Avery her energy was feminine.

"No, no, no, no, no. But it's not though," Avery argued. "There are plenty of people who carry masculine energy and they are women. And so when you point fingers and you say, 'This is how it is,' a person will fight you."

Ash wished Avery was going to support him after the seminar, but instead, he felt patronized. Ash said he didn't appreciate Avery trying to tell him what to do instead of trying to understand his position.

"As a female, your dominant energy usually is the feminine. Because in your feminine, you will release hormones that make you happier as a woman," Ash explained.

Avery said they were just going to disagree on this topic, but Ash went on to say if trouble presented itself, Ash would stand in front of Avery to protect her as the masculine energy in the relationship.

"That's the reality of it, like it or not," Ash insisted.

Avery didn't feel she was on the same page, and she didn't like how defensive Ash became when she or someone else challenged him. Avery believed Ash almost liked confrontation, but Ash didn't feel he had been defensive.

Ash didn't think he was wrong, so he had no intention of backing down from his fight with Avery. Avery said Ash didn't make things clear when he thought he did, and then Ash blew Avery off and just said, "Cool, I'm done... I don't want to talk."

Ash walked away from Avery without coming to a resolution, and Avery called Ash's behavior "a major red flag."

Darcey said it felt good to be home, back in Connecticut, but she was emotionally drained following her split from Tom. She was ready to start a new chapter and chase after her dreams and goals.

Darcey said she had blocked Tom because she didn't want to talk to him and was "disgusted," adding that she didn't want his "negativity" or bad energy around her.

Meanwhile, in New York City, Tom expressed how he was heading to Connecticut. Tom had written Darcey a letter the night before, and through writing it, said he realized he still had strong feelings for her.

Tom only had a short window of time left in New York, and he admitted he wanted to fix things with Darcey and apologize for how things had gone down between them in New York. Since Tom said he couldn't communicate with or call Darcey, he had to find her and tell her how he felt face to face.

Tom felt he and Darcey had built a strong foundation and their romance could eventually lead to marriage and children.

"I still love Darcey, and she needs to hear what I have to say to her," Tom said in a confessional.

Tom wondered if he could have his happily-ever-after ending with Darcey, but he confessed it was like walking into a lion's den -- and he just hoped the lion had been fed.

When Tom arrived and Darcey's twin sister Stacey Silva opened the door, Stacey was absolutely shocked. And when Darcey saw him, she said, "Oh sh-t. Unbelievable. Why are you here?"

Tom apologized for the way things had ended and for not having treated Darcey with more respect. Darcey claimed she didn't want to see Tom or hear his "fake apology."

"I was in love with you, but I'll wait for the next guy. It's okay," Darcey said.

Tom told Darcey that she's "wonderful" and a "nice woman," as well as a great mother. Darcey said Tom should've told her that a while ago, but Tom was glad to say it in person.

Tom said he couldn't find the right words to tell Darcey how he truly felt about her and so he had written his feelings and thoughts in a letter. Tom gave Darcey the letter and asked her to read it.

Darcey wasn't feeling comfortable with taking the letter from him, saying nothing in the letter would convince her that he ever cared.

"At some point, you have to say, 'No,'" Darcey said in a confessional, suggesting it was too little too late from Tom because he had said he was in love with someone else.

Darcey then closed the door in Tom's face and said, "Be in love. Goodbye. Nice knowing you."

Tom wasn't surprised by how Darcey had acted, but he at least thought she was going to take the letter and read it. Darcey mocked Tom for trying to be the nice guy and put on an act.

"I'm pissed off that I actually wasted my time coming here today," Tom told the cameras. "At least I can say I tried. You know, it's the same old Darcey, just a different day."

Tom said his first time in Connecticut was going to be his last and Darcey seemed to hate him. Tom understood Darcey was angry and hurt, but he said she didn't have to act that way.

"Whatever me and Darcey once had is no more. I've actually found some happiness with Shannon. God knows after putting up with Darcey, I deserve it," Tom said. "I've had a bit of a bad time with Darcey... Finding closure with Darcey makes me realize how special Shannon is, and I want nothing more than to be with her right now.

Tom said when Darcey wakes up alone as a 55-year-old woman, she'll only have herself to blame.

Stacey assured Darcey she had done the right thing because Tom had two-timed her. Darcey said her love for Tom had already disappeared by the time he showed up at her doorstep and he was just trying to look like "the good guy."

Darcey called Tom's letter "tainted" and said she didn't want to read it. Darcey figured Tom just wanted the last word or say, and she wasn't about to give him that. On the contrary, Darcey said she wanted Tom to stay away from her.

Tom put the letter on Darcey's windshield before he left, but she asked Stacey to go outside and rip it up for her. Darcey was standing her ground and said she didn't want that energy in her house.

"I love myself and am going to focus on myself, not worry about his thoughts and his feelings," Darcey noted. "I want to open my heart to someone who's deserving and live my life for myself and my kids, and that's all that matters."

Stephanie had been in Australia for one week and had yet to find out whether Erika was the girl with whom she'd want to spend the rest of her life.

Stephanie said the gathering with Erika's friends was a complete disaster and they had a huge fight considering Erika had hooked up with several of her friends before and that made things uncomfortable for Stephanie.

Stephanie even spent the night alone in a hotel, but Erika asked her to meet up at a botanical gardens so they could talk.

Stephanie said she still felt a deep connection to Erika and loved and cared for her so much, so she hoped they could work things out and Erika wasn't planning on breaking up with her.

When the pair reunited, Erika said she was surprised when Stephanie had decided to leave the party prematurely, and Stephanie explained she felt like everyone was upset with her and Erika wouldn't even make eye contact.

Erika admitted she was exhausted by having the same conversation over and over again, and she told the cameras Stephanie's behavior was embarrassing and resulted in another night of tears for them both.

Stephanie apologized and said she had never intended to cause drama or problems, but at the same time, she was trying to figure stuff out about Erika since they had such a short amount of time together.

Erika said her problem was that Stephanie was having issues with things she had already known prior to arriving, such as the fact Erika had hooked up with some of her friends before.

"I came out here following my heart, and I got here, and something really started to weigh on me," Stephanie confessed.

Erika also mentioned how she struggled with Stephanie not wanting to be affectionate with her.

"At this point, I am feeling really upset and frustrated. The issues that have risen have all been from insecurities she has that she didn't tell me about," Erika told the cameras.

Stephanie said she's "a screwed up person" who's not perfect and has trust issues.

"But I do love you, and I would like a relationship. And I would like the opportunity to do over," Stephanie said.

Erika suggested they should start fresh and have a clean slate, and Stephanie was pleased. Stephanie wasn't ready to give up on her relationship, and Erika agreed their romance was worth sorting out and continuing to try.

After talking things out, Stephanie and Erika finally felt they got their relationship back on track, but Stephanie promised to try to open up and trust Erika more.

The couple then went to throw boomerangs, and Erika was glad to start seeing the loud and funny side of Stephanie. Erika was starting to see she could really have a future with Stephanie.

Stephanie also said she was beginning to see the girl she was in love with, but this meant they'd eventually have to come out to their families, which Stephanie called "terrifying."

Afterward, Erika made the most of Stephanie's last week in Australia by taking her on a boat ride to swim with great white sharks. Stephanie is afraid of sharks and open ocean, but she tried to put on a brave face for her girlfriend and face her fears.

Stephanie was worried about sharing scubadiving gear with other people because if someone was sick, she could catch their illness. However, she said she was willing to do anything for love and for Erika.

The pair ended up having an awesome experience and said they felt connected to each other during that adventure. Stephanie said she'd never forget that moment with Erika.

"My feelings have remained very strong for her the whole time she's been here regardless of the fights we've had, and I do see this being long-term," Erika told the cameras.

Neither woman had come out to her parents yet, so Erika thought it was time they do so. Stephanie was worried if she came out as bisexual to her mother, their relationship would be ruined and her mother wouldn't even speak to her.

However, Erika was ready to introduce Stephanie to her parents and come out by revealing she was in a genuine relationship. Stephanie said she wasn't quite at that point, but Erika didn't want them living with a secret anymore.

"I'm ready to come out to my parents and introduce [Steph] as my girlfriend," Erika said. "I just hope that one day soon, Steph will do the same, because I don't want to live the rest of my life hiding my relationship."

Geoffrey worried about Varya's family judging him over his history of dealing drugs and going to jail, but Varya confessed she was still thinking about whether to move forward as a couple since his past would affect their future together.

Varya said her family was very worried and she hid some things her mother had said about Geoffrey in Russian. Varya simply wasn't sure if she was making the right decision by staying with Geoffrey and pursuing a serious relationship with him.

"I want to be confident in my future and my relationship and I'm worried my mom will never accept Geoffrey," Varya told the cameras, adding that her mother was her support system.

Despite the bombshell Geoffrey had dropped on Varya and her family, Varya still decided to participate in a camping trip Geoffrey had planned with one of his buddies, Igor.

Geoffrey was upset he didn't have a stamp of approval from Varya's family, but he hoped to convince her they could have a happy and peaceful life together.

Varya was having a hard time picturing her future with Geoffrey, especially since her mother and brother no longer trusted him.

But Varya tried to be optimistic and have a good time during their camping trip. Varya discovered Igor, whom Geoffrey had apparently once met and befriended in Mexico, was the typical Russian man who enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and vodka.

While Geoffrey was off going to the bathroom, Igor told Varya that Geoffrey is a really great guy and a wonderful human being who has his entire life ahead of him. Varya was able to get to know Geoffrey a little better through his friend, but she still wasn't sure whether she could trust Geoffrey.

Lisa and Usman only had one day to earn a blessing from Usman's mother Fatimatu to marry because Lisa had to leave Nigeria the very next day. Lisa felt like she had done everything possible to win Fatimatu over and she was out of options.

Lisa and Usman then headed to see Fatimatu again, and Usman griped about how they probably only had a one percent chance of receiving his mother's blessing to have a wedding.

Fatimatu was happy Lisa had joined her at the mosque to pray, but she still feared Lisa was going to turn Usman into a servant once they moved to the United States. Usman said Lisa was going to help him find work in America after getting married and he'd visit her in Nigeria often.

"I will have more chances of success there," Usman assured his mother, adding that he'd be safe in the United States with Lisa and loved her.

"I will think about it," Fatimatu replied.

"Mommy, you should have accepted it by now," Usman noted.

Lisa could tell by the look on Usman's face he was not receiving good news, but then suddenly, Fatimatu -- after a long moment of silence -- said, "I have accepted it now."

"She said, 'Yes!'" Usman told Lisa, who celebrated with joy and couldn't believe it.

Fatimatu told the cameras, "It had become clear to me she and Usman will love together in love and peace. I'm thinking he will come with Lisa here to Nigeria, and I'm happy about it."

Usman said he felt totally relieved but he and Lisa still had problems they needed to discuss and work out before getting married. Usman, for example, wanted Lisa to work on her jealousy and controlling ways.

Later on, Usman picked out a wedding ring for Lisa, who wanted something simple. Usman said rings in Nigeria tend to be large and flashy, so he anticipated Lisa was going to complain about his pick.

Usman purchased the simplest ring he could find and seemed happy with it. Usman said he really wanted to get married because he loved Lisa, although she tended to lose her temper quickly. Usman didn't want to spend his marriage fighting, but his friend advised Usman to think before acting in order to avoid Lisa getting mad in the first place.

Usman's buddy told him to be patient, and Usman seemed to take those words to heart.

Lisa was excited to marry her best friend, but she told Usman that he had to propose marriage to her first in-person. Usman had once popped the question via videochat, but she wanted to hear his words face to face.

Usman told Lisa that a Hausa man controls the house and he wanted to be in control of their relationship. Usman was tired of Lisa commanding him to do things, saying that's the husband's role in a marriage.

Lisa said a man telling her what to do would be "disrespectful," but Usman wanted to be in charge. Lisa told the cameras an American woman is not going to be obedient.

"If there are two kings in a kingdom, there will definitely be war," Usman said in a confessional.

Usman also mentioned how they needed to work out a few issues. Usman said Lisa could advise him but not tell him what to do, and with that being said, Lisa walked away from him and flipped him the middle finger.

"If I get married to Lisa, I might be unhappy forever," Usman said.

Yolanda said things had been stressful in her relationship with Williams ever since he allegedly deleted his Instagram and she received a blackmail email, saying private photos of her would be released if Yolanda didn't hand over money.

Yolanda was sure Williams' account had been hacked, but she hadn't heard from her man in almost a week. A woman then reached out to Yolanda on Instagram claiming to be friends with Williams.

The woman told Yolanda that Williams missed her and he had lost all of his data. The woman also alleged Williams' account had been hacked, so Yolanda said this confirmed her suspicions. However, Yolanda's children didn't believe Williams was real and that their mother was getting fooled and played.

Yolanda asked the woman to tell Williams to call her, and she thought it looked like a legitimate Instagram account. But the woman was also a beautiful model, and so Yolanda's daughter Karra pointed out it seemed like a scam.

Despite the odds, Yolanda chose to believe Williams existed and still loved her.

Later on, Yolanda had yet to receive a message back from the woman claiming to be Williams' close friend. Yolanda hoped Williams would contact her soon, and she was disappointed because she hadn't heard from either of them in several days.

"It's easy for [my kids] to think bad of Williams and think he's scamming me, but they don't know him like I know him and how much I've grown to really love this man," Yolanda told the cameras.

Yolanda wanted to talk to Williams before drawing negative conclusions about him, but Karra insisted she just wanted to keep her mother safe.

Karra and Yolanda's son Damante therefore suggested they should do a reverse-image search on Williams' photos online. Yolanda's children searched the web for one of Williams' pictures and clearly discovered something.

"Oh my gosh!" Yolanda reacted.
