VH1 has announced the premiere of The Springer Hustle, a new reality series that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how the often controversial The Jerry Springer Show is created.  The eight episode half-hour reality series is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, March 4 at 10PM ET/PT.

Rather than focus on The Jerry Springer Show's crazy on-air antics, The Springer Hustle will follow the team of producers that keep the show running and find the wild guests who recount their shocking tales of cheating, inbreeding and everything in between.

VH1 says the new series will focus on a few specific members of The Jerry Springer Show's production crew, including Selena, a motivated  producer who's easy on the eyes; Toby, a top producer who's currently in an emotional tailspin; Annette, one of the show's original producers who left for a few years only to return for the constant talk-show tantrums she couldn't find anywhere else; and Richard Dominick, their rarely-congratulatory boss.

Of course the series will also feature Jerry Springer, the former Dancing with the Stars participant who serves as circus ringmaster for the long-running daytime series (The Jerry Springer Show is currently in its sixteenth season of national syndication).

The Springer Hustle is being executive produced by Mike Maloy and Richard Dominick for NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Jim Ackerman and Michael Hirschorn are executive producers and Christian McLaughlin is supervising producer for VH1.
