The X Factor has denied a U.K. report that host Steve Jones is unlikely to return for next year's second season of the Fox reality singing competition.
According to a report in Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Fox executives have already decided not to renew Jones' The X Factor's contract.
"The executives at Fox have already decided not to renew his contract and so, short of a miracle happening, it is pretty much a done deal that he will not take part next season," a source told the newspaper. Jones' representative also denied the report to People, terming it a "a fabrication." "There have been absolutely no conversations about Steve Jones leaving The X Factor," the rep said. "Steve is very happy with the outcome of this season... and he looks forward to being back and discovering more talent in the New Year."
