The Voice cut Matthew Schuler and determined the fifth season's Top 5 artists, leaving all the coaches' teams nearly extinct except for Adam Levine, who still has all three of his artists in the competition.

Schuler from Yardley, PA, who was representing Christina Aguilera's team, was ousted from the reality singing competition during Tuesday night's live results show on NBC after being voted into the bottom two by home viewers after Monday night's performance show.

Schuler was joined in the bottom two by James Wolpert from Strasburg, PA, who is a member of Levine's team.

While Wolpert didn't necessarily receive the most votes among the bottom-two members following Monday night's show, America saved him via the show's new "Instant Save" twist. The "Instant Save" allows home viewers to determine which member of each week's bottom vote-getting artists will be saved from elimination.

Once the bottom-two results were revealed last night, America had a five-minute window to tweet the name of their favorite artist in jeopardy whom they wished to save in the competition. Both Levine and Aguilera pleaded with America to save their team members.

In the end, Wolpert received the most tweets.

Unbiased coach Blake Shelton guessed Wolpert would receive more tweets, while unbiased coach Cee Lo Green noted it was an "even, fair fight" between the two because they were both two of the most "dynamic" and "accomplished" artists this season.

The "Instant Save" format has now come to an end.

The remaining artists in The Voice competition are as follows: "Team Blake" member Cole Vosbury; "Team Christina" member Jacquie Lee; and "Team Adam" artists Wolpert, Tessanne Chin, and Will Champlin. Green's team has been wiped out entirely already.
