'The Simple Life' star Paris Hilton skips own movie release party

Heiress Paris Hilton dodged her own movie release party, showing up at Hyde in Hollywood wearing a wig after being charged with drunk driving earlier that day.

Hilton was pulled over by Los Angeles police in the early morning hours Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence, TMZ.com reported.

Thursday night, she skipped the party celebrating her new movie, "Bottoms Up," where Sleepy Brown was lined up to perform "Margarita," his new single.

When Hilton left Hyde, her publicist Elliot Minz drove her home. As she got out of the car, a photographer asked why she was wearing a dark wig.

"Just for fun," she said.

When another asked how she was treated in jail, she said, "...just wonderfully."
