'The Bachelor' preempted! Nick Viall's fantasy suite dates to air over two weeks on ABC

By Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, 02/23/2017

The Bachelor's three fantasy suite dates will be broadcast over the course of two episodes, rather than just the usual  one.

ABC has released the broadcast schedule for the rest of The Bachelor's Season 21 episodes.

Viewers will only see a one-hour episode next week on Monday, February 27 at 8PM ET/PT in which Nick Viall is surprised by his ex-girlfriend and former The Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman, who will offer up "a bombshell suggestion" regarding the Fantasy Suites.

Nick will then send either Corinne Olympios, Raven Gates, Vanessa Grimaldi or Rachel Lindsay home during a "painful" Rose Ceremony in New York.

Nick and his Final 3 bachelorettes subsequently travel to Lapland, Finland, where he will whisk one woman off in a private helicopter to observe the snow-covered landscape.

Nick and the bachelorette will also watch the Northern Lights together, and she will share her "very private, innermost secret" to him. But will she accept his invitation to the Fantasy Suite?

The conclusion of Nick's fantasy suite dates in Finland will air on Monday, March 6 from 8-9PM ET/PT, and be followed by the season's The Bachelor: The Women Tell All special, which will air from 9-11PM ET/PT on ABC.

The Bachelor's Season 21 finale will then air the following week on Monday, March 13.

The reason for the change in The Bachelor's schedule is that ABC will be airing the first night of its new When We Rise miniseries on February 27 from 9-11PM. (The Bachelor typically airs a two-hour episode every Monday night beginning at 8PM ET/PT).

An eight-part, four-night miniseries, When We Rise will chronicle the real-life personal and political struggles and triumphs of a diverse family of LGBTQ men and women who helped pioneer one of the last legs of the U.S. Civil Rights movement.

Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell will be among those guest-starring on When We Rise, which will star Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Michael K. Williams, Austin P. McKenzieEmily SkeggsFiona Dourif, Jonathan Majors, and Ivory Aquino.

Two-hour broadcasts of When We Rise broadcast will air every night next week except for Tuesday, when ABC will air live coverage of President Donald Trump's address to Congress from 9-11PM ET/PT.
