CBS has announced The Amazing Race's 29th season will premiere Friday, April 21 at 8PM ET/PT.

The new season will debut with a special two-hour episode before moving to its regular timeslot of Friday nights from 8-9PM ET/PT beginning April 28.

CBS announced The Amazing Race's Season 29 premiere as part of the unveiling of its Spring 2017 schedule.

The Amazing Race, hosted by Phil Keoghan, had been previously left off the network's Fall 2016 schedule.

CBS had aired both fall and spring editions of The Amazing Race annually since Season 13 premiered in Fall 2008.

While Season 12 of The Race had initially been scheduled as a mid-season series for the 2007-2008 TV season, it ended up debuting in early November after one of CBS' new fall series, a musical comedy called Viva Laughlin, flopped and was canceled after only two episodes.

Last season of The Amazing Race featured teams known for their social-media influence. The show wrapped in May 2016 with "Engaged Couple" Dana Borriello and Matt Steffanina winning the $1 million.

In addition to The Race's 2017 premiere date, CBS also revealed the eighth edition of Undercover Boss will debut Wednesday, December 21, at 8PM ET/PT and Survivor's 34th season will premiere Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 8PM ET/PT.
