CBS has announced Season 30 of The Amazing Race will debut Wednesday, January 3 at 8PM ET/PT with a one-hour premiere.
Following its premiere, The Amazing Race's 30th season will continue to air in the Wednesdays 8-9PM time period through January 31, with the exception of January 24 when CBS will air a two-hour episode from 8-10PM ET/PT.
However, beginning February 7 and continuing through its February 21 finale, The Amazing Race will move to the Wednesdays 9PM ET/PT time period where it will air two-hour episodes weekly (Celebrity Big Brotherwill replaceThe Amazing Race in its original 8PM ET/PT timeslot).
CBS revealed The Amazing Race and Celebrity Big Brother premiere dates as part of unveiling its Winter 2018 schedule, which will also include the February 28 premiere of Season 36 of Survivor.
Similar to prior seasons, the new edition of The Amazing Race will be hosted by Phil Keoghan and feature teams of two as they embark on a trek around the world.
At every destination, each team must complete a series of challenges known as Roadblocks and Detours, which may be mental or physical tasks. Once a challenge is finished, a team can move forward to the next location.
The team to finish a leg in last place will be eliminated until a team reaches the final destination in first place and wins the $1 million prize.
