The Real Housewives of New Jersey star claims in her new lawsuit her lawyer Jim Kridel never met with her before filing bankruptcy paperwork and therefore she didn't know what she was doing and ended up getting charged with bankruptcy fraud, TMZ reported.

Teresa, a 42-year-old mother of four young girls, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after reaching a plea deal to resolve a 41-count federal fraud indictment she was facing with her husband Joe Giudice. She'll begin her jail time on January 5, after which Joe will start his 41-month sentence.

Teresa -- who previously acknowledged she's very naive when it comes to her finances -- reportedly insists her lawyer was sloppy by neglecting to list significant assets in her bankruptcy documents such as bank accounts, rental property income and cars.

Teresa is allegedly suing Kridel for $5 million because she believes it was a case of malpractice. Kridel declined comment on the matter, according to TMZ.
