The Ghost Hunters spinoff will continue to feature a group of students learning how to hunt for paranormal activity from veteran ghost hunters Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango -- who will train the students at haunted hotspots across America.

Ghost Hunters star and TAPS founders Jason Hawes will then eliminate one of the students at the conclusion of each episode.

The alleged paranormal locations that will be featured on the new Ghost Hunters Academy episodes are Waverly Hills Sanatorium (Waverly Hills, KY), Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (Weston, WV), Mark Twain House (Hartford, CT), Fort Delaware (Delaware City, DE), Mansfield Reformatory - aka the "Shawshank Prison" (Mansfield, OH) -- and the infamous Stanley Hotel (Estes Park, CO).

Ghost Hunters Academy premiered in November and its debut delivered 2.07 million total viewers -- the highest viewership for a Syfy reality series premiere since the January 2008 debut of Ghost Hunters International.

Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International and Ghost Hunters Academy are all produced by Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Films and Television production company.
