Bachelor in Paradise alum Susie Evans has defended Jeremy Simon as Bachelor Nation continues to tear into him for lying to Bailey Taylor Brown.

Following a great date with Susie in Paradise, Jeremy seemed torn between Susie and Bailey, but he ended up giving Bailey his rose under the assumption another man would give Susie a rose and he could continue getting to know both women on the beach.

And so when Susie was unexpectedly eliminated, Jeremy lamented about his missed opportunity with Susie, whom he appeared to obsess about for weeks -- while he was still dating Bailey.

"I will say I messaged Bailey. I mean, we're cool. We follow each other," Susie shared during the August 14 episode of "The Viall Files" podcast.

"And I did say -- because I was seeing so much of the Jeremy and Susie stuff -- that I said, 'Hey, I just have to say that when I was on the date with Jeremy, I knew he wasn't picking me.'"

Susie told the podcast's host Nick Viall that she wanted "to be careful of saying stuff that didn't air" on Bachelor in Paradise.

"I think for my sake, I don't want to say too much," Susie noted.

"But I remember my conversation with him where he didn't -- he never said, like, 'I'm not going to pick you.'"

Susie continued: "But I said it was very clear that he was like, 'I have been growing something with Bailey. We've been here for longer. I'm actually shocked about finding someone so quickly.' I remember being like, 'Oh, okay, so I'm going home.'"

Susie said she was "cool" with that in the moment.

"I respect it, you know? But I told [Bailey] that. I was like, 'Obviously that stuff doesn't make the cut.' It's been this whole thing about me and Jeremy, but I felt it when I was there," Susie explained.

"I was like, 'Yeah, I don't have a chance.'"

After Susie got eliminated and Jeremy thought his relationship with Bailey was exclusive and solid, Bailey accepted a date with newcomer Andrew Spencer.

Bailey's decision made Jeremy spiral and question everything.

Jeremy therefore called Susie on the phone and begged her to return to Paradise so they could give their romance another shot.

Susie, clearly feeling emotionally depleted after her reunion with ex-boyfriend Justin Glaze on the show, declined his offer.

Although Bailey said she enjoyed her date with Andrew, she essentially rushed back into Jeremy's arms.

Jeremy and Bailey therefore picked up where they had left off, but Jeremy was secretly missing -- and pining for -- Susie behind Bailey's back.

Jeremy expressed regret about having given his rose to Bailey instead of Susie, and he was shown venting to Brian Autz before the "Birds of Paradise" competition about how he wished Susie was his girl.

On Bachelor in Paradise's latest Season 10 episode, Brian let Bailey know that Jeremy had asked Susie to come back and even said he'd "propose to Susie on the spot" if she ever came back.

Bachelor in Paradise viewers were able to witness Jeremy and Brian's shocking conversation over a month into the Paradise process, and it seemed like Jeremy -- who was basically hiding in a corner and covering his microphone -- thought he was off-camera.

When Bailey confronted Jeremy about Brian's claims, Jeremy insisted he no longer had feelings for Susie and that he never said he'd propose to Susie if they reunited. Bailey briefly considered quitting Paradise, but she ultimately chose to forgive Jeremy.

Bachelor Nation has since been slamming Jeremy for playing Bailey and dragging her along, seemingly to win the $500,000 prize.

Bailey recently said that Bachelor in Paradise has been "horrible" to watch back but she's doing okay, and Brian said he has no regrets about telling Bailey the truth when neither Jeremy or her girlfriends were willing to speak up.
