Survivor featured the Dakuwaqa Tribe blindsiding and voting out Bruce Perreault with a hidden Immunity Idol in his pocket during the Season 45 episode that aired Wednesday night on CBS.

Bruce, a 47-year-old insurance agent from West Warwick, RI, was voted out of Survivor's 45th season on Night 19 of the game through a 4-3-1 vote at Tribal Council instead of Jake O'Kane, a 26-year-old attorney from Hanson, MA, who currently resides in Boston, MA, and Julie Alley, a 49-year-old estate attorney from Brentwood, TN, respectively.

"Not too bad, huh? It's cute," Bruce said in his final words, showing off his idol.

"I didn't play my idol today because I was convinced otherwise. They hatched a good plan and made me feel comfortable, which kudos to them! I'll keep smiling no matter what though. That's what I do. I had a blast."

Bruce added, "It's just been absolutely amazing, and I'm very thankful that I had a chance to come back. I love this game, man. I truly love this game."

The Survivor broadcast began on Night 17 at Dakuwaqa's camp following the Tribal Council in which Kendra McQuarrie had been blindsided and voted out.

Jake believed he had allies in the game and people were looking out for him, and so he felt he was back in the game "as a player and not as a pawn."

Drew Basile, a 23-year-old graduate student from Birmingham, MI, who currently resides in Philadelphia, PA, said Bruce had an idol and so he had power in the Survivor game.

Drew and Emily Flippen, a 28-year-old investment analyst from McKinney, TX, who currently resides in Laurel, MD, wanted to get rid of Bruce, or at least flush his idol, but Bruce kept winning Individual Immunity.

On Day 18 of Survivor 45, Julie cried to Drew about how she felt betrayed in the game and didn't like how she had to lie to get ahead.

Julie said she loved her alliance of four with Drew; Austin Li Coon, a 26-year-old graduate student from San Jose, CA, who currently resides in Chicago, IL; and Dee Valladares, a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Havana, Cuba, who currently resides in Miami, FL.

"But at some point, we've got to turn on each other. I almost can't even go there. How do you vote them out and they love you? Are you kidding me?!" Julie vented in a Survivor confessional.

Meanwhile, Emily, Bruce and Katurah Topps, a 35-year-old civil rights attorney from St. Louis, MO, who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, discussed how there were four Reba members picking people off one by one.

The trio wondered who was the decision-maker in the strong alliance of four, but no one really knew.

"I hope Drew, Austin and myself are working together, but now I'm questioning my alliances and where people are standing. I may be forced to go back and forge new relationships," Emily explained to the Survivor cameras.

Emily was frustrated because she didn't think Bruce was open to playing his hidden Immunity Idol strategically. Instead, she thought he was just trying to protect his own butt with it.

"He has the opportunity to flip the power dynamic while it's still theoretically four [against] four on this tribe," Emily noted in a Survivor confessional.

Bruce then told Katurah that he had given Kellie his idol to hold onto because he was nervous about the "Knowledge is Power" advantage and Kellie got voted out with it. However, Bruce was just testing out his acting skills, and he assured Katurah that he really had an idol in his possession.

"I didn't believe him for a second... [and] this won't work. He has an idol and nobody is going to believe this," Katurah told the Survivor cameras.

Bruce fed his lie about the idol to Jake, hoping he'd tell other people about it. Bruce had big plans to shock the tribe and play the idol to benefit his allies and himself.

It then became time for a Reward Challenge. Each Survivor castaway was required to race through a series of obstacles, collecting a ball along the way. After crawling under a net, each player had to maneuver that ball through a maze.

The first person to finish would win Reward in the form of a visit to the Survivor sanctuary, where he or she would enjoy turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple pie, beer, soda and juice. In addition, the winner would spend the night and have a comfortable sleep at the sanctuary.

Emily won the biggest reward of the season, and she was so overwhelmed and happy that her hands were actually shaking.

Emily got to choose one person to join her at the sanctuary, and Survivor host Jeff Probst announced how they'd also receive letters from home.

Emily selected Julie, who had been in severe pain with her neck, and then Emily got to invite one more person. Emily asked Katurah to join her, and Katurah was shocked in the best way possible.

Drew suddenly broke down into tears, and then Emily got to choose one more person to join her. Emily opted to have "a ladies night" by inviting Dee to come along as well.

Austin knew these women were going to bond that evening over their letters from home, and so he became a little nervous that the relationships he had built were going to be tested.

At the sanctuary, the ladies agreed that Bruce needed to go, and Katurah spilled the beans about Bruce's idol lie. Katurah knew, however, that Bruce was probably going to play his idol, and so she wanted Jake to be their backup vote.

Back at camp, the boys farted, burped, fished and had a blast together. Bruce pitched Dee's name to Jake, but Jake told the Survivor cameras that that wasn't going to happen. Jake also didn't want anyone to view Bruce and himself as a pair.

Jake informed Drew that Kellie had left the game with Bruce's idol, and so Jake was hoping to work with Drew going forward. Drew shared the news with Austin, and the boys agreed that Bruce was on the chopping block and Jake was also desperate.

"Both of them are essentially dead in the game," Drew proudly told the Survivor cameras.

On Day 19, the women returned to camp after reading their heartfelt and emotional letters from home, and Emily broke the news to Drew that Bruce had been lying about the alleged loss of his idol. Emily informed Drew that it was "100 percent a lie."

Emily then warned Jake that if Bruce was going to play his idol, the tribe was going to put votes on him and target him. Jake was a little bit surprised, and he pitched the idea of throwing some votes on Drew.

Emily, however, admitted that voting for Drew would blow up her spot in the Survivor game. Jake was pissed off at Drew for stringing him along as the backup vote, and so he asked Julie to vote for Drew.

Julie proceeded to warn Drew that Jake was gunning for him, and Drew called it "a slap in the face" because he had convinced people to vote for Kellie and Kendra over him at the previous two Tribal Council sessions.

Drew asked Jake, "Why me?"

"Why me?" Jake asked in reply.

Drew claimed he had kept Jake in the game, but Jake disagreed and told the Survivor cameras that Drew wasn't a gift of God. Jake concluded that their conversation was over, and Drew called him a "goon," just not to his face.

On Day 19, the Survivor castaways met Jeff again for the season's next Individual Immunity Challenge.

Jeff instructed each castaway to lie on a steep ramp suspended over water. They had to hold themselves on the platform by holding onto a handle on each side. At regular intervals, the players had to move down to smaller hand holds, making it more difficult.

If a person dropped, he or she would be out of the challenge. The last person left standing would win immunity and be guaranteed a spot in the Final 7. The next person voted out would become the eleventh person voted out of Survivor 45 and the fourth member of the jury.

The Immunity Challenge came down to Bruce vs. Austin.

Bruce was fighting for his third Individual Immunity win in a row, but Austin ended up winning.

After the challenge, Bruce planned to play his idol that night for himself. Bruce told Julie and Katurah that the easy vote would be Jake, and the girls agreed that would be a great choice.

"I'm still mad he voted for me. I'm writing Jake's name down -- he's gone," Julie told the Survivor cameras.

Dee wanted to split the votes between Jake and Bruce on the off-chance Bruce didn't play his idol, but Katurah then told Emily that they couldn't go to the Final 3 with anyone whom others call "Mama."

"Who do you love more than anybody in the world?" Katurah asked Emily. "Your mama. And Julie has been so warm."

Emily agreed that everyone loved Julie, and Katurah said she loved Julie so deeply that even she would give Julie the million dollars. Julie had built strong connections and friendships, which made her a huge threat in the Survivor game.

Emily then spoke to Bruce about how Julie wasn't really with him. She claimed that Julie was just being nice to Bruce, like Kellie had been, to win his jury vote.

Bruce therefore suggested how they should vote out Julie along with Jake and Katurah. Bruce promised Emily that he'd be "100 percent" in on the plan.

"I was lying to Bruce's face. If I can appeal to his ego and outsmart him a little bit, outwit him a little bit, then it's possible that he doesn't play his idol tonight and he goes home with an idol in his pocket," Emily explained to the Survivor cameras.

"I doubt Bruce falls for it, but if Bruce doesn't play his idol tonight, Bruce is going home."

Going into Tribal Council, Bruce and Jake teamed up, and Bruce let Jake know that he still had an idol in his pocket. Jake was sick of being lied to by Bruce and being made to look like a fool, and he simply didn't know whom to trust.

Jake felt like he was on the bottom of every single vote, and he started crying alone on the beach. Jake felt disappointed in himself, but Katurah promised him, "I've got you. We can do this together."

Bruce also gave Jake a pep talk, saying that he's going to realize he's a lot smarter than he thought he was.

Bruce assumed the Reba castaways were going to split their votes onto Jake and himself, but he told the Survivor cameras that if Emily, Katurah and Jake joined him on voting out "Mama J," she'd be out and then "the Reba Four" would be broken up.

Emily said there was a question over whom was really going to be voted out, and she worried that the wrong move would ruin her game.

"If by some miracle, if [Bruce] does not play his idol tonight and he goes home, everybody says, 'Wow, look what Emily pulled off,'" Emily boasted in a Survivor confessional.

At Tribal Council that night, Jake discussed how Survivor was bringing out his insecurities given he had been on the outs or out of the loop in conversations, and Bruce also pointed out how he felt heat on him after his multiple Immunity Challenge wins.

Julie announced how she felt "terrible" for lying to Kendra and voting her out, and so she was also having her own crisis.

The Survivor game had become more complicated and intense for everyone, with more pressure than ever before.

"When you get down to eight people, it's time to make a move. And I think the power dynamics are going to shift after tonight's vote," Emily declared.

"I'm here. Let's do something. You want to vote and sucker punch someone? Let's go!" Jake said.

Jeff asked Julie if she'd be surprised if the Survivor tribe voted her out, and she admitted, "I would."

Julie also told Jeff that she thought an idol was going to be played that night, and all of the other castaways agreed.

Bruce announced how he was going to do whatever possible to keep himself in the game, but Emily acknowledged how Bruce may not play his idol if he felt confident in his plan.

Each castaway then voted one by one, and Drew was shown writing Jake's name down.

"Third try is the charm," Drew said in the Survivor voting booth.

Bruce was then shown writing Julie's name down in the voting booth.

When it became time to tally the votes, Jeff asked if anyone wanted to play an idol or advantage. Bruce stroked his beard and seemed deep in thought, but he ultimately chose to hold onto his idol. Emily's jaw dropped to the ground as a result.

Jeff proceeded to read the Survivor votes in the following order: Jake, Jake, Jake, Julie, Bruce, Bruce, Bruce, and Bruce.

Kendra cheered from the jury, and Bruce let out a scream before his torch was snuffed. Jake, Katurah and Drew all smiled big, and Bruce said it had been "an honor" playing with all of them for his second stint on Survivor.

"Christmas came early today," Jake concluded.

The Survivor episode's closing credits later showed that Bruce voted for Julie; Austin, Drew and Dee voted for Jake; and Katurah, Jake, Emily, and Julie voted for Bruce.
