Sharon Osbourne rooting for favorites in 'America's Got Talent' finale

By John Bracchitta, 10/01/2008

Holding true to her reputation as someone that's never shy about voicing her opinion, America's Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne is making it clear who she wants to succeed in tonight's season finale featuring the show's top five acts.

"I'm really rooting for Nuttin But Stringz, for [Eli Mattson] and for [Neal E. Boyd]," Osbourne told The Associated Press in a Tuesday report.

"How many times do you see classical music together with rock and hip-hop?" she continued, adding that an album from the duo "would be something different out there in the marketplace."

Nuttin But Stringz is a hip-hop violin duo from New York consisting of brothers Damien and Tourie Escobar. Mattson is a pianist and singer from Chicago, IL, while Boyd is an insurance-salesman-turned-opera-singer from Sikeston, MO.

Singer Donald Braswell of Boerne, TX and soul singer Queen Emily from Stockton, CA round out the competition's top five acts.

"You've got a wide variety of talent and they're all great at what they do," Osbourne told The AP of the finalists.

A winner will be crowned from the final five acts when the final round vote totals from the public are revealed tonight during America's Got Talent's finale at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
