Report: Piers Morgan's "harsh comments" cause tiff with Osbourne

By Christopher Rocchio, 05/11/2007

Considering Sharon Osbourne has worked with Simon Cowell -- the king of nasty criticism -- on Britain's American Idol-like The X-Factor reality competition series, one would assume she'd be able to handle judging alongside Piers Morgan on the upcoming second season of NBC's America's Got Talent.

Think again.  The former The Osbournes co-star -- who was brought on as a replacement for America's Got Talent first season judge Brandy Norwood -- apparently "lost it several times" with Morgan during the first week of taping America's Got Talent's second season, TV Guide reported in its May 14 issue.

"Sharon was upset about Morgan's harsh comments to a young contestant," an "eyewitness" told TV Guide.  "At that point, she ripped up all of her yellow cards and threw them all over Morgan.  She yelled, 'I can't take this anymore.  I'm leaving!' and stormed off the stage."

Following a half-hour timeout away from each other, Osbourne was "coaxed back to her seat," TV Guide reported.  While NBC declined comment on the tiff, TV Guide's "mole" suggested it could be a long summer for the judges featured on the second installment of the Cowell-produced talent competition series.

"It doesn't look like Sharon's going to make it through the season," the source told TV Guide.

If bickering between Osbourne and Morgan ends up being the show's biggest concern -- America's Got Talent 2 should consider itself lucky -- based on fellow judge David Hasselhoff's recent foray into filmmaking.
