Despite the fact that his first child isn't even born yet, Clay Aiken is apparently planning for a second-helping of fatherhood.

The American Idol second-season runner-up impregnated record producer and friend Jaymes Foster via artificial insemination and an insider told In Touch Weekly that the two have more frozen eggs and sperm so they can have a second child sometime next year.

"Jaymes is due in August, so she'd like to conceive again next March," the insider told In Touch.  "That way, she would give birth in December 2009."

The 29-year-old Aiken and 50-year-old Foster have been friends since Idol's Spring 2003 second season and she also produced his third album "A Thousand Different Ways" and his most recent album "On My Way Here."

While the impending summer birth will represent the first child for both -- Foster divorced a few years ago and has no kids -- they were apparently keeping their fingers crossed for twins so they wouldn't have to use artificial insemination for a second time.

"Clay and Jaymes are committed to having at least two children," the insider told In Touch.  "They're both incredibly successful and wealthy, so money is certainly no object. And he just adores children. He is going to make a wonderful and caring father. There's no doubt about that."

Idol judge Randy Jackson also thinks that Aiken will make a wonderful father.

"He'll be a good dad," Jackson told Entertainment Tonight at the 67th Annual Father of the Year Awards recently.  "He's very compassionate, very humble, smart guy, funny.  I think he'll be great."
