Ohio native Jen Schefft chosen as Andrew Firestone's mate on 'The Bachelor'

Reality TV show contestants may be old hat in many places in America, but at least one city is still excited about a hometown winner. On the season finale of The Bachelor, wine heir Andrew Firestone proposed to 26-year-old Jen Schefft from Mentor, Ohio. As noted in these stories from WTAE-TV Pittsburgh and WEWS-TV Cleveland, Mentor seems very proud that a hometown girl and former high school cheerleader won Andrew's heart, however low the odds of a marriage.

As former Mentorites ourselves, we understand the appeal of a California winery over the Great Lakes Mall. We wish Jen good luck, because past experiences on The Bachelor make it clear that she'll need it. Best advice: stay away from Starbucks.
