"The Simple Life" co-star Nicole Richie says her Fox reality show is not based on her real life -- and she wants to keep it that way.

"The great thing about 'The Simple Life' is that it's a reality show but not based on my reality," she told People magazine. "It has nothing to do with my life or my home or my relationships or anything. I'm not open to anything like that."

Last month, Fox President Peter Ligouri had hinted the fourth season of "The Simple Life" could focus on the wedding preparations of Richie and Paris Hilton, who is also engaged to be married.

But Richie says she does not want the public to watch as she gets ready to marry Adam Goldstein and if Fox does propose such a premise this season, she'd say no.

"I would never put my own personal (marriage) plans on television," she said.
