The decision to bar socialite Paris Hilton from entering New York's Rose Bar last week was made by its owner who wanted to keep the new hotspot exclusive.

"The Simple Life" star was reportedly turned away when she and her friends attempted to enter the locale at the Gramercy Park Hotel as the trendy locale's owner, Ian Schrager, attempted to set his club apart from New York's other hotspots, said ABC News.

"He really wants to try and keep it different from the big loud clubs." said Katrina Szish, an ABC News entertainment correspondent, of Schrager's decision. "He doesn't want Paris and her people and her paparazzi and hangers-on in that space. He wants to keep it as exclusive as possible."

The hotel heiress was also not allowed to enter a recent fashion week party thrown by supermodel Milla Jovovich and was arrested earlier this month on a driving under the influence charge in Hollywood.
