Just think of the joy buzzers, whoopie cushions and water-shooting flowers you could buy with $250,000.

NBC has announced that in addition to landing a NBC talent contract deal and a Bravo half-hour comedy special that's similar to the prizes that Last Comic Standing's previous winners have received, the winner of this summer's upcoming fifth season will also receive a $250,000 grand prize.

Last Comic Standing's third season -- an "all-stars"-type edition which featured 10 Season 1 comedians squaring-off against 10 Season 2 comedians -- also awarded more than $500,000 in prizes throughout its season.  But the fifth season of Last Comic Standing will be the first to offer a cash prize to the series' winner.

As previously announced, Last Comic Standing's fifth season will also be the first one to include an international cast, with an expanded casting search currently taking place in Los Angeles, New York City, Minneapolis, San Antonio, Tempe, London, Montreal and Sydney.

Comedian Bill Bellamy will host Last Comic Standing 5, with  third season winner Alonzo Bodden and Last Comic Standing 2 contestants Ant and Kathleen Madigan serving as the show's new talent scouts.
