Following its debut, new two-hour The Sing-Off episodes will air on the next two nights in the Tuesday and Wednesday at 8PM ET/PT timeslot before its finale airs live on Monday, December 21 at 8PM ET/PT.

The Sing-Off will begin with eight a cappella groups performing contemporary songs without the use of any backing tracks or instruments.

Home viewer votes cast following the broadcasts will determine which group receives the show's grand prize of an Epic Records/Sony Music recording contract.

NBC ordered The Sing-Off in March and it is being produced by Outlaw Entertainment, Tenth Planet Productions and Sony Pictures Television, with Joel Gallen, Deb Newmyer and Sam Weisman serving as executive producers.

Clash of the Choirs aired in December 2007 on NBC and featured celebrity-organized choirs from across the country competing against one another for home viewer votes.

Singer Nick Lachey saw his hometown choir from Cincinnati, OH win the show's $250,000 grand prize, which he donated to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
