MTV has announced the third season of Rob & Big, a reality series that follows the unlikely friendship of professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and his personal bodyguard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, will premiere on Tuesday, January 8 at 10:30PM ET/PT.

Rob & Big's third season will begin at the two's Hollywood Hills house, which goes under security lock down after the guys find a mysterious item floating in their swimming pool.  Additional third-season episodes include a "Super Sweet 14" birthday bash for their bulldog Meaty; a road trip up the California coast to enter their cleverly-named mini-horse Mini into a pageant; and Boykin -- who is six-and-a-half-feet tall and weighs 416 pounds -- teaching Dyrdek what it's like to live the life of a big man in a small man's world.

Rob & Big first premiered on MTV in November 2006, and it's second season aired last spring.  Boykin announced in October that he's expecting the birth of his first child in February.

Rob & Big's third season will premiere immediately following the second season debut of MTV's Life of Ryan reality series, which follows the life of 17-year-old professional skateboarder and teen heartthrob Ryan Sheckler.  Life of Ryan's first season premiered in August.

Rob & Big was created by Jeff Tremaine, Dyrdek, Boykin and Ruben Fleischer. Tremaine is also executive producer and Fleischer is producer. Lauren Dolgen and Heather Olander are executives in charge of production.
