Michelle Duggar suffered a miscarriage Thursday, her husband Jim Bob told Us Weekly.

The U.S. reality television personality and mother of 19 children, 45, was expected to give birth to her 20th child in April.

"Earlier today at a routine doctor's appointment, Michelle and I received the sad news that we lost the baby," Jim Bob Duggar told the magazine.

 "Michelle is resting comfortably at home with the support of the entire family. We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers, but ask for privacy during this difficult time."

The Arkansas family stars on TV's "19 Kids and Counting." The Duggars have children who range in age from 1 to 23.
