Married at First Sight star Zach Justice has confessed he deleted text messages with Mindy Shiben's close friend Lindsay, and now he's explaining himself.

On Married at First Sight's tenth season, Zach, only when pressed by Mindy, admitted he had been having conversations both via text and on the phone with Lindsay, which really concerned Mindy since neither her husband or supposed best friend had informed her of this blossoming friendship behind her back.

"Whenever I called her, it was literally about things I was coming off the scene with -- never calling her up to say, 'Hey, what's up, Lindsay? How are you? How is everything going,' by no means," Zach explained on the March 18 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered.

Zach told a disappointed and frustrated Mindy in a recent Season 10 episode it had been a few days since he last talked to Lindsay, but Lindsay assured Mindy on the phone Zach had just texted her that morning.

When Mindy asked to see the text chain, Lindsay responded, "I deleted it off my phone, because I'm immature with how I handle this stuff. This is one of my biggest downfalls, is if someone is texting me who I don't want in my life at all, I just remove them from everything so I don't have their number accessible to me."

Mindy wasn't buying Lindsay's story, saying people don't delete text chains unless they're trying to hide something or they feel guilty. Mindy believed the pair had agreed to delete their conversations and one or both of them was lying to her.

"There was nothing for us to hide, in a sense, or for us to panic, I guess you would say. And that's what it felt like," Zach said on Unfiltered.

Unfiltered host Jamie Otis asked Zach to clarify whether he had in fact deleted his conversations with Lindsay.

"[Yes], because she asked me to," Zach revealed of Lindsay.

"I don't know on her end why she chose to delete them, but my understanding was, 'Please delete these,' and I was like, 'Well, since these aren't awesome things about your friend, sure.'"

Zach alleged earlier in the broadcast Lindsay had said "a lot of good things" but also "a lot of bad things" about Mindy during their conversations in order to give him some genuine insight into his wife.

Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson, however, was still suspicious of Zach's intentions.

"You only hide what you don't want to be seen," Pastor Cal said on Unfiltered.

"That's it. You hide what you don't want others to see. And if I don't want my wife to see something, it's because it's something that I shouldn't be doing. This doesn't look good."

"Right," acknowledged Zach, who previously said in the broadcast he didn't want to create more conflict with Mindy than they already had in their marriage.

"This does not look good -- at all," Pastor Cal repeated.

Zach confessed on Married at First Sight's tenth season he had confided in Lindsay and sought advice on how to deal with Mindy and proceed in his marriage when things weren't going well after his honeymoon in Panama.

Zach claimed on Unfiltered he was "incredibly naive" in thinking Lindsay had no motive other than to help out her friend when she had first reached out to him on Instagram to talk.

But Lindsay told Mindy when confronted on the phone that she was learning how Zach "manipulates things."

"So I said, 'I'm not going to talk to you again until filming is over,' like, 'We're done,'" Lindsay recalled.

Mindy found it strange Lindsay apparently intended to resume talking to Zach once filming ended, but Lindsay promised Mindy that she would block his number.

"I should [block him]. You're 100 percent right. I can do that right when I get off the phone with you. I have no interest in ever talking to him again. I think he's a liar and a sociopath," Lindsay told Mindy.

In the latest episode of Married at First Sight that aired on Wednesday night, Zach insisted to Pastor Cal he was being faithful to Mindy and wanted to try to make his marriage work.

Zach and Mindy therefore chose to stay together on "Recommitment Day," despite Pastor Cal's concerns Zach was on the show for the cameras and to build his fitness or modeling career.

Although Zach promised to put more effort into his relationship, the episode ended with him refusing to sleep in the same bedroom as Mindy, leaving her feeling rejected and alone, once again.

In addition to Mindy and Zach, Married at First Sight also stars Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman, Meka Jones and Michael Watson, and Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd.
