Lamar Odom's week has moved from bad to worse.

Khloe Kardashian's troubled husband -- who has spent the last week at the center of numerous headlines that he has a hardcore drug problem which has left his marriage to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star in jeopardy -- was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Friday.

Odom was arrested for DUI at 3:54AM by the California Highway Patrol after he was observed driving slow in a "serpentine manner" on the 101 Freeway, People reported.

"The most dangerous aspect is that he was driving 50 mph on a freeway with a speed of 65 mph," CHP spokesman Leland Tang told People. "That is never a good sign. That's not safe."

After being taken into custody, Odom was taken to a jail in Van Nuys, CA before he was released on $15,000 bail at 8:33AM, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The 33-year-old professional basketball player reportedly showed "objective signs of intoxication" and failed the field sobriety tests he was asked him to perform after being stopped on the freeway.

In addition, Odom also refused to take a chemical test when he arrived at the jail -- which, according to California state law, means he will lose his driver's license for a year regardless of the outcome of his arrest.

"Once you say no you automatically lose your license. No judge or attorney needed," Tang explained. "People think you can do that but you can't refuse a chemical test without consequences."

Reports that Odom has a serious two-year drug problem that has strained his marriage to Kardashian first surfaced last weekend and followed prior reports that he has repeatedly cheated on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, leaving her on the verge of filing for divorce.

Odom returned to the Los Angeles home he shares with Kardashian on Monday after she reportedly kicked him out last week following an unsuccessful intervention session in which Kardashian and her family attempted to convince Odom to get help for his drug problems.

Kardashian had reportedly previously hid her marriage problems from the rest of the Kardashian clan.  Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, had recently denied divorce rumors on behalf of her daughter but is now reportedly -- along with the rest of the family -- encouraging Kardashian to file for divorce because they believe Odom "can't be saved."

Jenner, believing her daughter is being "too emotional" about the issue, has reportedly already met with divorce attorney Laura Wasser -- who recently handled sister Kim Kardashian's divorce from NBA basketball player Kris Humphries.
