Kim Kardashian and new husband Kris Humphries feel they couldn't be happier with how their wedding turned out.

"It was like we were in heaven," the Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York star told People in a cover story appearing in its new issue. "[I] felt like a princess."

"I'm going to remember how perfect it was," Humphries added.

The couple's Saturday wedding -- which E! will air on October 9 and October 10 during Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, a two-part special documenting the ceremony and the activities leading up to it -- took place in front of 450 guests at a private estate in Montecito, CA.

However in a departure from wedding tradition, Kardashian and the 26-year-old New Jersey Nets star made an unusual move of requesting their wedding party and all their guests to wear black or white attire.

"Kim loves black and white and so does Kris," Sharon Sacks, the couple's wedding planner, told People.

"They have this Hollywood royalty feeling and the black and white represented formality. But tradition was very important to them."

While the ceremony was an overly extravagant spectacle, Kardashian insisted glamour wasn't the objective.

"Glam aside, that wasn't our main goal. It was really about our family and each other," the 30-year-old reality TV star said.

Kardashian and Humphries got engaged in May after six months of dating.
