Kim Kardashian may have received an off-the-charts proposal from Kanye West, but Jordin Sparks' boyfriend Jason DeRulo managed to top him on Valentine's Day.

West, 36, gave the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star 1,000 roses for Valentine's Day on Friday, however, DeRulo -- a 24-year-old R&B artist -- trumped the rapper by surprising Sparks, the sixth-season American Idol winner, with 10,000 roses.

Kardashian posted a photo on Instagram of her lying on a sofa with her legs in the air surrounded by many bouquets of red roses. She was wearing a little black dress, black tights and stilettos.

"A thousand roses," Kardashian, 33, captioned the photo on Friday.

"Nothing better than being with my love on Valentine's day! Happy Vday dolls!" Kardashian also tweeted that day.

Meanwhile, DeRulo filled a suite at the Redbury Hotel with 10,000 orange roses, shocking his longtime girlfriend, according to Us Weekly.

"Completely overwhelmed by 10,000 roses today from, my love, @jasonderulo. They're so beautiful! Omg. #supersweettweet," Sparks captioned a photo on Instagram of herself smiling with some of the roses. "Preeeetty sure my face says it all. I love you babe! #happy ??"

DeRulo also shared a photo of the hotel room filled with the flowers on Instagram, writing, "10,000 roses fill this suite! I only wish I could've fit 10,000 more in here! Valentines everyday! Thank u 2 #passionroses 4 helping 2make this special."

DeRulo told Us on Saturday he chose to give the singer orange roses because that's her favorite color.

"Passion Roses took care of me. I knew it was outrageous, but they made it happen for me. She was absolutely overwhelmed and shocked. She was like, 'I have never seen this many flowers in one place before.' I was like, 'Me neither, actually,'" DeRulo explained.

After Sparks, 24, received her Valentine's Day gift, the couple reportedly gave most of the flowers to hotel staff members and then drank wine and ate a lobster pizza from Berri's Pizza Cafe.

Kardashian and West's engagement aired during Sunday night's broadcast of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E!. West had dramatically popped the question utilizing an orchestra and the scoreboard at AT&T Park in San Francisco with a 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring in late October.
