Kim Kardashian says if she really got married for the money and fame like critics have suggested, her divorce from Kris Humphries was "a bad business decision."

"First of all, I would hope this is fake -- that someone wouldn't really have to go through this. I think that me being such a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly. But if you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV -- I'm a smart business woman -- I would have stayed married longer," Kardashian told host Kelly Ripa during a Monday morning appearance on Live! With Kelly!.

"This was a bad business decision, you know what I mean? If you really think about it, it doesn't make sense that everyone says that. So, I really didn't think following my heart would create this much backlash."

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York star and Humphries got engaged in May after six months of dating and then wed in late August in front of 450 guests at a private estate in Montecito, CA.

Kardashian then filed for divorce in late October from her husband of just 72 days, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, a two-part special which documented the ceremony and the events leading up to it, was broadcast on E! earlier that month.

The marriage was the second for Kardashian, who was married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004.
