"R.I.P. my little Valentine," LA Ink star wrote on Twitter on Monday.

"My house burned down last night with my cat inside," the 28-year-old explained in earlier posts. "Finally get to sleep away the remainder of today -- Hope tomorrow is gentler."

Von D's house went up in flames on Sunday, but what started the fire has yet to be confirmed and is reportedly still under investigation.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:23PM on Sunday, Us Weekly reported.

"Firefighters encountered heavy fire with extreme smoke but they were able to get a knock down on the fire," a representative told Us. "There was no one home."

Von D -- whose formal name is Katherine von Drachenberg -- later tweeted a photo of herself standing in the charred remains of what is left of her house. However, despite the unfortunate incident, the tattoo artist has apparently kept a positive attitude.

"In order to gain everything, you must lose everything," Von D wrote on Twitter.
