Kanye West apparently wants nothing to do with reality TV regardless of how big the opportunity could seem.

Not only has the rapper limited his appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and refused to allow his daughter with girlfriend Kim Kardashian to enter the limelight, but now he's passing on the chance to serve as a judge on American Idol's thirteenth season, Us Weekly reported.

"He didn't want to go that mainstream," a source told Us. "He didn't want to lose any street cred. So he turned it down."

West allegedly briefly considered the position but ultimately feared it would damage his reputation.

West and Kardashian welcomed a baby girl whom they named North "Nori" West on June 15.

According to the source, Idol producers have also had discussions with Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, will.i.am, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Rodney Jerkins to fill the vacant seat on the Fox reality singing competition's upcoming judging panel.

Keith Urban is currently the only confirmed judge who will be on the show next season following the departures of twelfth-season judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey and longtime judge Randy Jackson.

However, Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend Casper Smart seemed to accidentally reveal the former judge will return and be back in the mix for the coming season recently.
