Jessica Simpson apparently plans to revisit her past and record and perform music again, but there's one aspect of history she intends to leave behind.

Simpson, a 35-year-old mother of two and fashion designer, revealed to the Today show's Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday she has every intention to make music again but absolutely no desire to star on a reality TV show in the future.

Although it's been five years since Simpson released her last studio album "Happy Christmas," she's currently building a recording studio in her home.

"That project is almost wrapped up. I maybe have, like, three more weeks until it's done and I'm down in my basement recording. I'm sure my kids will completely take over," Simpson revealed.

Simpson said her children with husband Eric Johnson, a three-year-old daughter Maxwell and two-year-old son Ace, don't even know the music-icon side of their mom.

"I recorded a Christmas album [while dating Eric] but he's never really seen me on stage and do my thing that actually got me here now," Simpson said, adding that she could see herself going on tour again and performing for large crowds.

"That's how I started and that's always one of my biggest passions in the world. I love to use my voice," Simpson told Guthrie.

But don't expect to see Simpson, whose fashion line is a huge success and continues to expand, on a reality show any time soon.

"That's very rear view. In fact, don't bring it up," she confessed with a big laugh.

From 2003 to 2005, Simpson starred with her then-husband Nick Lachey in the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. She later starred on The Price of Beauty but it only lasted one season in Spring 2010. More recently, Simpson served as a mentor on two seasons of Fashion Star in 2012 and 2013.

"I mean, I'm very open with fans and the media, but having a camera on me at all times, I mean, we all know I stick my foot in my mouth a little bit too much. So now that I'm a mom, I probably have to keep it together a little bit better," Simpson explained.
