'Idol' judge Simon Cowell chides Charlotte Church for career choice

Television's Simon Cowell has laid into his fair share of singers over the years and has now blasted Britain's angelic-voiced Charlotte Church.

It isn't Church's singing that has Cowell steamed, but rather her decision to take time off from singing to build a television career.
The Daily Mail said Cowell fretted in a radio interview that Church has the pipes to be an opera star, but may have "thrown it all away" by not sticking to her natural talent.
Cowell said he saw more and more talented youngsters trying to break into show business, but added "I'm almost thinking about sending them each a poster of Charlotte Church with a big cross on it -- 'don't go there.'"
