By Christopher Rocchio, 07/23/2007

Fox has announced it has renewed its So You Think You Can Dance summer reality series for a fourth season that will air in 2008.

So You Think You Can Dance first premiered on Fox in Summer 2005 and has since aired two additional installments follow a similar summer broadcast schedule.  Its third season premiered on the heels of American Idol's sixth-season finale in late May.

So You Think You Can Dance 3's Wednesday night performance episodes and Thursday night result shows currently rank among this summer's Top 3 regular programs in the Adults 18-49 and 18-34 demographics.  It also ranks No. 1 in its Wednesday and Thursday night time periods among all key demographics.  So You Think You Can Dance 3's two night season finale is scheduled to begin with a two-hour performance episode on Wednesday, August 15 at 8PM ET/PT followed by a special live two-hour finale on Thursday, August 16 at 8PM ET.

So You Think You Can Dance was created by Idol creator Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, who serves as one of the show's permanent judges and also executive produces the series along with Fuller and Barry Adelman.  It comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clark productions.

In addition to So You Think You Can Dance, Fox announced Hell's Kitchen -- which also first premiered in Summer 2005 -- has been renewed for a fourth installment to air in 2008.
