Jake Pavelka is ready to test his acting chops in a role that isn't entirely unfamiliar.

The former The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love star and Dancing with the Stars tenth-season celebrity participant will star in an August 22 episode of Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, Us Weekly reported Monday.

"I am honored to be a part of Drop Dead Diva this season, and cannot wait to meet the cast and crew," Pavelka told Us.

The 32-year-old will play Toby Davlin, a suitor on a dating show called Finding the One who dumps one bachelorette in favor of another -- leading the producer to be sued for "for intentionally conflicting emotional harm," according to Us.

Pavelka will begin taping scenes for the episode -- titled "Good Grief" -- on June 18.

Pavelka and Vienna Girardi got engaged during The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love final Rose Ceremony, which filmed last fall.

He was subsequently tapped by ABC as a Dancing with the Stars tenth-season celebrity participant before he and professional partner Chelsie Hightower were the fifth couple eliminated.

Pavelka has previously denied former girlfriend Tanya Douglas' claims that he's "fame-obsessed" and insisted he is not looking to pursue a Hollywood career.

Pavelka previously appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger in 1999 when he player a young version of the show's title character.
