Brittany Fletcher and Caitlin King were eliminated from The Amazing Race during Sunday night's broadcast of the CBS reality competition's 21st season.

The "Best Friends" team became the third team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's third Pit Stop at Sma Negeri 1 Bangil School in Bangil, Indonesia in last place. The pair finished behind all the other teams due to bad luck with multiple becak drivers, who either got lost or had trouble communicating with the girls.

In an exclusive interview, Caitlin and Brittany talked to Reality TV World about their The Amazing Race experience -- including why they believed they were a stronger team than Gary Wojnar and Will Chiola and one of the strongest teams overall, whom they envisioned making it to the Final 3 and what they thought of rock stars James LoMenzo and Mark "Abba" Abbattista while they were on the show.

Reality TV World: In your final words, you said you felt you were a stronger team than Gary and Will and some of the other teams that were still in the Race. Can you elaborate on that some more?

Brittany Fletcher: Yeah, I mean, you can see that, Gary and Will, were a team that, I think, got lucky by two teams having bad transportation the past two legs. They're guys, but when it comes to actually being able to do the challenges physically, I think that definitely [Amy Purdy] and [Daniel Gale] and Caitlin and I were two teams that were definitely stronger.

I think what it kind of showed was where Gary and Will kind of placed every time -- they were kind of towards the back of the pack. So, it just goes to show kind of the two teams that finished at the top of the first leg. We were two strong teams but just had a lot of bad transportation.

So, you know, I think where we were in the leg of the Race -- the second leg, when we had to take the potluck of the bull whip, it was an hour-and-a-half difference from when the first team left to when we had left. So those teams already had an hour-and-a-half advantage over us before we even had started that race. So that was just because it was luck of the draw.

So that really wasn't anything to determine how good we were. It was just one of those things that you kind of get stuck in that position. So it showed that we were a strong team and we picked eighth and started eighth that day and we ended up finishing in seventh.

So, again, I think we were a strong team. I think people kind of figured that out at the start of the first leg when they knew that we were there to win. We were a pretty strong all-girl team.

Reality TV World: Who did you consider your biggest threats or strongest competition in the Race, and is that something that changed for you as the Race went along?

Caitlin King: We always -- we thought Amy and Daniel would definitely be in the Top 3 at least. And once again, that just goes to show. We know that there were teams that expected us to be in the Top 3.

So, it just kind of shows you really unpredictable is what's going to happen, and we still think Sri Lankans [Natalie Anderson and Nadiya Anderson], Chippendales [Jaymes Vaughan and James Davis], the rock stars -- we think they're really good teams. But now that two strong teams are already out of it, you can never really predict what's going to happen.

Reality TV World: Last night's episode was obviously the third leg and it seemed like some teams still didn't even know James L. and Abba's names. What can you tell us about them and what was your own opinion of them while you were on the Race? Because they've obviously been shown admitting they've been kind of isolating themselves from everybody else.

Caitlin King: Yeah, from the get-go, James and Abba were always -- they were really, really cool and really, really nice -- laid back guys. But they were running this race on their own, like they want to do everything on their own. And that's completely fine, but you know, they're one of the only teams that really hasn't hooked up with another team to make an alliance or just to help each other out.

They're going to do it on their own, and I think that's a good idea for them, because they're really, really smart. They're really street-smart. So they have all the tools that they need going for them, so I'm excited to watch them continue to race.

Reality TV World: Did you have any idea how close Gary and Will came to U-Turning you two and when did you find out about that?

Brittany Fletcher: I think it was one of those things that, I mean, we knew it was between Gary and Will. But when we were running back to where the Detour challenge had happened, we were just very thankful that they didn't see us.

Otherwise, obviously I think we would've gotten U-Turned. That just kind of goes to show you how lost our becak driver really was. We left the Detour challenge before they were even finished, and they still beat us to the U-Turn mat. 

So it just goes to show that we had really bad luck with the drivers and we were lost for a good amount of time, but definitely I think that now, watching it on TV, I don't think Caitlin and I realize how close we were to getting U-Turned. So, you know, it was good that they had chosen [Rob French and Kelley Carrington-French], but little did they know that they had already checked in.

Reality TV World: You two didn't try and U-Turn anyone when you finally did find the U-Turn board. Was that because you didn't want to U-Turn anyone or because you were just 100% percent sure no one else was behind you at that point?

Brittany Fletcher: Actually, there wasn't even a spot for us to U-Turn, but looking back on it, it was just in the heat of the moment. We were just trying to get to the Pit Stop again. We were so over that U-Turn board (laughs).

I made that mistake of saying, "We just decided to U-Turn nobody," but there wasn't even a slot for us to U-Turn a team. But we were just like in the heat of the moment, just trying to get back to the Pit Stop. So we really kind of overlooked [it] and I just kind of made the mistake of saying that. (Laughs)

Caitlin King: (Laughs)

Reality TV World: What did you girls find to be your most difficult task while you were on the Race?

Caitlin King: I think, generally speaking, just going in and really not knowing what to expect. [There were] just so many unpredictable situations that you're not in control of, and just kind of traveling and not having rest and having your backpack on at all times. We were in the best shape we could've been in and we were still so, so exhausted at the end of the day.

So kind of just keeping that toughness and a good attitude really is what helped us throughout the Race, because it can really get under your skin -- just having that lack of sleep under so much stress.

Reality TV World: How were you two cast on The Amazing Race, how did you end up on the show?

Brittany Fletcher: It was kind of a surprise for me. It was one of those things, like on my bucket list, it was like The Amazing Race and The Price is Right and I'm just the type of person that I won't let anything get in the way of me achieving my goals and my dreams. So now, I can check both of them off.

But I knew Caitlin was the perfect partner. We kind of applied for it and it was kind of a really long process. It had gone on since last September. But it was one of those things where we were determined to get on the show.

We knew we weren't going to stop and quit until we achieved that goal and that dream, so Caitlin and I just knew we'd be the perfect partners. We balanced each other out, and we were two [people] that were competitive enough to make it happen. So we did!
