April Gould and Sarah Williams were eliminated from The Amazing Race during the second episode of the CBS reality competition's 30th season.

The "Friends and Goat Yoga Instructors" became the second team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they lost The Amazing Race's first-ever "Head-to-Head Competition" and therefore checked into the Pit Stop at Grote Markt Square in Antwerp, Belgium in last place.

April faced off against Henry Zhang as well as Daniel Guiffreda in the "Head-to-Head Competition" and lost both times, so the other teams were able to step on the Pit Stop mat ahead of them.

Had it not been for this new twist, April and Sarah would have finished in ninth place and "Twin Brothers and Firefighters" Daniel and Eric Guiffreda would've been eliminated instead.

During a recent exclusive interview with Reality TV World, April and Sarah talked about their The Amazing Race experience. Below is the concluding portion of what they had to say.

Reality TV World: Given you girls were eliminated from the Race due to the new Head-to-Head Competition, and when looking back on the awful time Henry and Evan Lynyak had with it, do you think the twist is fair? Were you surprised they allowed it to determine the leg's finishing order? 

April Gould: I feel like if I had to race against Evan, I would have had a lot better chance than racing against men, you know? I'm not going to say whether I think it was fair or unfair because you could go through every challenge and find something that you're like, "That's not fair!" And that's not really like me, to do that, but it is what it is.

Reality TV World: As fans of the show, is this Amazing Race twist something you'd like to see again in a future season, or are hoping it was a one-time deal?

April Gould: I don't think the idea of a "Head to Head" was necessarily bad. I just think maybe not to determine your fate, you know?

Reality TV World: And not all of these challenges would have to be physical ones going forward.

Sarah Williams: Exactly. Right.

Reality TV World: You two got off to a bit of a rough start in the premiere episode given you were bickering and what not. Is that what your friendship is typically like, or did the stress and pressure of the Race get to you girls? And was that episode a little tough to watch back on TV?

April Gould: (Laughs) It brought back memories! And I feel like that is kind of our relationship. We bicker and [argue], and then we get over it. You could tell in the second leg that we were getting along much better.

Sarah Williams: That kind of is our dynamic, and it's kind of unhealthy and dysfunctional, but we work really well together. We have a great, successful business, so that's just how it works. (Laughs)

Reality TV World: Although you only got to race two legs, did you feel you were making friends or any potential alliances? Were you hoping to work with a particular team down the road if given an opportunity?

Sarah Williams: Oh the twins [Daniel and Eric] for sure! They were so nice to us. I mean, they bought us dinner in Belgium and they were like, "You know what?! We've got to stick together! We're the only parents here." I mean, [Shawn Marion]'s got a kid, but he's not married, you know?

So they are just really nice guys and they're both really religious. One of them is a pastor. So we got along well with them a lot. We just figured -- I mean, they just happened to be where we were every time. It wasn't like we tried to; they were just with us! (Laughs)

April Gould: We got along well with them, and we were the mom team, and all the way to Iceland, we followed them. And we were really sad that we had to go head to head against each other, because we were forming an alliance with them.

Sarah Williams: They were so nice after too! They felt so bad! They were like, "We're so sorry!"

Reality TV World: Did you girls figure out whom your toughest competition was going to be? If you had stayed in the Race and there was a U-Turn early on, which team would you have targeted first and why?

Sarah Williams: We were sure our toughest competition was "Team Extreme." But before we started racing, we both agreed that we wouldn't U-Turn unless we absolutely had to.

And I imagine that "Team Extreme" probably would've been ahead of us and probably would have had the chance to U-Turn us (laughs) than we would've had a chance to U-Turn them. But they were probably our toughest competition.

Reality TV World: And by "Team Extreme," just to confirm, you're referring to Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak, right?

Sarah Williams: Yes, yes.

Reality TV World: Did you two work out some sort of arrangement for the Roadblocks this season or did you just plan on alternating back and forth? Did you figure certain tasks might be better for one person over the other when taking into account your strengths, weaknesses and fears?

Sarah Williams: I think we were just kind of flying by the seat of our pants. We took it one day at a time and didn't really have a great strategy for it.

April Gould: I feel like we did because I know Sarah's strengths, and Sarah knows my strengths and weaknesses. So we just knew, like for the traversing, I had done a lot of trapeze and stuff, and so that was kind of a no-brainer.

And then for the "Who wants to get high?" -- We were like, "Okay, I did the last kind of fun one, so now you do the next fun one." So we kind of wanted to switch back and forth but also, we know each other's strengths. So for example, if there was an eating challenge, Sarah was going to do it.

And in Iceland, when she did the letters, that was the perfect challenge because I would've been there so much longer, because I have a really hard time -- a really hard time -- with, like, memorizing and words and letters. So we know each other's strengths, that's for sure.

Reality TV World: How were you two cast on The Amazing Race? How did you end up on the season?

April Gould: It was our first time applying and I feel like we just had a good, little, fun, quirky story with our goat yoga. And we had been friends for a long time. Plus, we had a good story and I had always wanted to be on The Amazing Race.

It was always a dream of mine and our kids were at the perfect age to kind of be able to leave for a month, so it just seemed right. And it's the 30th season, so everything just seemed to line up!
