Donny Osmond definitely won't be going Dancing with the Stars -- at least not on the show's upcoming spring installment.

"I'm definitely not doing this upcoming season," Osmond told Entertainment Tonight in a Wednesday report. "If there was an offer on the table, I'd do it in the fall. I would make room for it. Absolutely!"

Earlier this month, Osmond began claiming that he was "considering" participating in Dancing with the Stars eighth season, which premieres March 9.

However due to his headlining act at Las Vegas' Flamingo hotel with sister Marie, a source subsequently told former Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous host Robin Leach that "there just wasn't sufficient advance lead time to change the time of their Flamingo show and the schedules of everybody involved with it."

But Donny's Dancing with the Stars saga didn't end there. During a Monday taping of Tuesday's episode of The Bonny Hunt Show, he indicated that he was likely to be participating in the show's spring edition after all.

"Well I guess I am making an announcement. I'll say I am seriously considering doing it, let's put it that way," Osmond told Hunt with a laugh. "I guess I just let the cat out of the bag!"

"I can't let my sister [Marie Osmond] upstage me," he continued. "Besides, who do you think taught her how to dance?"

"It is going to be very difficult because I am going to be doing Vegas on top of doing Dancing with the Stars."

Seemingly aware that ABC doesn't look kindly on potential participants prematurely discussing their involvement, Osmond quickly clarified his comments.

"I did The Bonnie Hunt Show today and I alluded to the fact that I am considering doing Dancing with the Stars," he told ET Monday evening. "After all I can't let Marie upstage me, however, there is no official offer yet."

ABC -- which never comments on casting reports prior to each season's cast announcement -- is expected to reveal Dancing with the Stars' eighth-season cast in February.
